I was looking into getting the TRD short shifter and was wondering if it is worth it. Has anyone gotten in and if so how much shorter is the throw and are there any other noticable differences.

I have one and it shortens the throw a lot. I haven't measured it, but it is definately noticeable. The only problem I had was that it was hard to get into reverse for a little while, but after everything broke in it is as easy as stock. It makes rowing through the gears more fun, so it's worth it.

I also noticed this on a Toyota Parts website the other day (maybe TRD's?) and was wondering how this differed from the one URD is making. I've had the URD "Short Shifter" in for a while now and like it, but is there any difference? Gadget, you out there?

It looks like the TRD quick shifter only gives a 30% reduction in throw where the URD short shifter gives a 44% and is cheaper. Trd probably replaces the entire shaft, where the urd one is just a bolt on extension.

I wonder, If the TRD one replaces the whole shaft and the URD is just an attachment...could you combine the two? then maybe you won't be able to shift at all, hahaha!
