Hello everyone. I just recently got a quote from a local body shop here in Riverside, Ca and they are charging me way too much for parts. The job I need done is to get my left fender replaced...I did quite some damage to it while wheelin. I have pictures but i don't know how to post it to this. So if you want to see the pictures, my email is TacomaTRD4x402@sbcglobal.net.
Anyways, they are charging me $254.95 for a OEM Left Fender Panel and I found that same exact part number on a website for $141.95. They are charging me a lot more prices for different stuff, L Fender Liner($72.42), L Fender Brace To Apron($21.98), L Fender Wheel Opening Flare($147.76), L Fender Seal($13.26), L Frt Door Adhesive Nameplate($29.18), and the Paint Materials($169.00).
Now I mean the small things like $20-$30 doesn't bother me but somewhere in there I feel like i'm getting raped.

So can anyone help me out with this. Just pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

If you wann go new just get all the parts yourself and then just have them paint it. The fender liner could probably be reused etc... but its hard to tell without seeing it.

I would just get fiberglass for both sides and have it painted, it'll probably end up cheaper that way than what that shop is charging you, plus you won't need any of that inner liner stuff.

You don't 'need' those inner fender liners with stock fenders. They keep you from sucking water into your intake. Besides, glass fenders are lame unless you have long travel.

wouldnt buy any "pre painted" stufff cause it WONT match!! even if it is factory colored, you have to blend when painting since humidity and temp can change the color slightly...i would buy the parts and paint it myself...but thats just me...plus i've done this type work before...shouldnt be to hard for you ...got any questions just let me know

so if all u realy need is the sheet metal then go to a yard and find one and get it painted then u can install it. i think the book time for painting a new fender is 1.5 hours add for prep since it is used and let them match to your truck. if you can turn a wrench you can R&R a fender. as for matching, anybody painting in a decent body shop should be able to do a very nice job just matching the joining panels. a blend is not always nessacary but they may try to charge for the time it will take to adjust the paint formula and shoot test panels. just my opinion
good luck
