Damn....that looks pretty F'in good. I may have to consider doing that to mine, I wonder how it would look on my black truck....? Anyway, it looks killer, offsets the white on yours nicely.

Let us know how it holds up, if it starts to chip at all or anything.

You dont think that looks good?? I think you're :xbeer2: , it looks great to me. The contrast with the white truck works well, IMHO.

well the reason i did it is to try and prevent some of the scratching and scrapes i get from tree limbs and bushes and shit like that out on the trail. another thing i think it kinda helps out the look of the squared fenders some.. never really liked that look of the 05"s. let me ask you why you want a trd liscenes plate frame so much... :dunno: you need the extra HP. might help keep your plate from falling off when wheeling. just messing with you. i know not everyone is gonna like but,,, ohh wellll.

from that persepctive then yes its a great idea, if you are wheelin and dont want the truck to get beat up by natures elements.....i think if the truck was black or a darker color it would be so BAM in your face.....just caught me off gaurd.

I think it looks good. I've always liked the look of a two tone truck. There is a guy that lives just down the street from me that got something very similar to you. Only his truck is black and he had pewter/grey colored lineX applied in the same way, over the fenders and down the rockers. It looks really good. What did it cost ya if you don't mind me asking?

i never really understood the concept of lin-x on the truck body, you say its to protect from scratches and scrapes, but what exactly are your protecting? the paint? you already ruined it by spraying it with line-x...

very true.. but by protecting it from scrapes and scatches, and the occasional small dent i also don't have to pay an ass load of money for a new paint job. not to mention the rust that can start from all those scrapes and scratches that you get from wheeling. it's a truck not a show car, it's suppose to get dirty and scratched well thats if you wheel it on the trail instead of the mall parking lot.

It also adds rigidity to the fenders, helping them to ward off damage.

Looks really sharp.

If I had it done it would be to protect from scratches, not so much to protect the paint itself, but just so there's not very visible scratches (and rock chips) all down the side of the rig. The line-x is more durable than the paint, therefore less chance of having scratches. That would be my reasoning anyway. I'm sure some guys will say that scratches are just part of the game and get used to it. Well yea I understand that, I already have more on my truck than I care to BUT most of us DD our trucks and I would rather keep the bad scratches to a minimum.

If I end up keeping my truck (gonna take a hard look at the FJ Cruiser as well as the 07 Rubicon  when they come out) then I may end up doing this to mine. I think I would go with a dark gray line-x though (black truck) and I would line-x mine all the way up to the crease in the doors/body.

If you dont mind me asking how much was it to get done? I just got quoted $600 to get mine done on my '01 DC... seems a bit steep, seeing that my bed is done allready.

Beat me to it. I think it looks good and will go along way to keep the "jesus" scratches away.

I always wanted to do the whole truck. You can mix in different colors too. I wonder how hard it is to clean mud off of? I hate washing my truck, so if I could just hose it off without it looking like ass I would be happy.
