Does anyone have a list of all TSB'S or Recalls on the 2005/2006 Tacomas. I think it would be nice to post them in one thread so we can track them easier.

I remember finding one on Edmund's, all I did was typed "2005 Tacoma Recalls" on google, did a little searching but it wasn't too hard to find. I believe there is a recall on the parking brakes on some of the earlier 2005 models, just a nut that needed to be tightend and there was also so seatbelt sensor problem with the regular cabs I believe.

I have progessive for insurance and when I go to their website it shows all recalls and tsbs for my 05. It doesn't give detailed desriptions. If needed I could copy and paste here.

From what I remember the nut on the brake “gear” was loose and would cause the parking brake not to engage. All they have to do is tighten it or if the gear has worn down because of this they will replace the gear, that is what they had to do to mine.

Defect Summary: ON CERTAIN REGULAR CAB PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH A BENCH SEAT, THE SEAT POSITION AND SEAT BELT BUCKLE SENSOR CONNECTOR PINS ARE INCORRECTLY POSITIONED DUE TO A WIRE HARNESS MANUFACTURING PROCESS ERROR.

Consequence Summary: IN THIS CONDITION, THE SEAT POSITION AND SEAT BELT BUCKLE SENSOR MAY NOT FUNCTION AS DESIGNED, AFFECTING THE ADAPTIVE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH, COULD RESULT IN IMPROPER OCCUPANT RESTRAINT.

Corrective Summary: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE SEAT POSITION AND SEAT BELT FASTENING CONDITION SENSOR CONNECTOR. AN ADDITIONAL SUB-WIRE HARNESS WILL BE INSTALLED TO CORRECT THE CONNECTOR PIN MANUFACTURING ERROR, IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 25, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-431-4331.

Defect Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL CABLE LOCK NUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED TO THE PROPER TORQUE SPECIFICATION. IN THIS CONDITION, THE LOCK NUT MAY LOOSEN AND COME OFF, WHICH WILL REDUCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PARKING BRAKE.

Consequence Summary: THIS CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL IF THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT PLACED INTO THE "PARK" POSITION AND THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A SLOPE, THUS RAISING THE POSSIBILITY OF A CRASH.

Corrective Summary: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND TIGHTEN THE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL CABLE LOCK NUT TO THE PROPER TORQUE SPECIFICATION FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 3, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

THE VEHICLES' TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL (PLACARD) ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE B-PILLAR INCORRECTLY INDICATES THE REAR AUXILIARY SEATING ACCOMMODATIONS AS DESIGNED SEATING POSITIONS, AND INCLUDES THEM IN THE TOTAL FOR DESIGNATED SEATING CAPACITY.

Consequence Summary: THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STANDARD.

Corrective Summary: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH CORRECT TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABELS TO AFFIX OVER THE ORIGINAL LABEL. IF AN OWNER SO DESIRES, A DEALER CAN INSTALL THE LABEL FOR THEM. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN LATE OCTOBER 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.
