go to a body shop supply and get some lord fusor plastic repair or some duramix 4050. 4050 is pretty much the s#it for plastic repair but its about 20 bucks a tube. the problem is getting something to adhere so make sure you follow directions carefully and use adhesion promoter if recommended

Just read your post and I have a different question but still on the same lines as the plastic repair. I have a camper shell on my Taco, and the plastic "lip" that comes down to cover the top of the tailgate has a 1/8" crack in it. Could I use the same compound to fix this. Thanks in advance. I'll post some pics if you need.

why would you reccomend 4050?? 4050 is for smc fibreglass.
i would say don't use duramix, i doubt he has the $200 gun to apply the stuff.
a better option is 3M part# 08101. it is a kit of 2 toothpaste tubes for bonding semi-rigid plastic, among other things.
or 3M Automix part# 05895. another toothpaste deal for plastics. this may be easier to sand and re-paint than 08101.

I know, but have you ever used the stuff? It sticks to everything and is strong as hell. I have never had a failure or comeback from the use of 4050. However it's the only decent product they make and really it's only ideal for the back side of the repair.

agreed that fusor is the best product to use IMO, 3M plastic repair sucks and is prone to failure unless you have the 50 other products they want you to use in combination with the repair compound. And yes all of them require a special applicator gun but now I think you can get all of them in a two part "toothpaste tube" system as stated b4

i work at a body supply distributor, and i've never had any complaints about the duramix, and i sell tons of it. automix is so-so. and i don't sell any fusor, but agreed it's awesome stuff. and duramix isn't available in any 'toothpaste' tubes, neither is fusor to my knowledge. only automix.
