There should be a small rectangle or square cut out on the top of the console just forward of the shifter.its about the size of a postage stamp. pop it out and there is a shift interlock overide button. Push it down and shift freely.

Dude when i got home I found alot more on mine too
My rear bumper dented the crap out of the bottom rear edges of the bed, I got a big dent in front of the gas tank, drivers door a little wrinkled, drivers wheel well has a drease in it now. Good thing it doesn't really bother me, lol. Charachter!
Still had a ton of fun.
I was thinking when looking at the pics that Drew's truck looked alot more dented than when I left. I got that idler arm fixed to so now my steering doesn't lock up anymore.
yeah i got plenty of charecter did any one exept steve notice my rear driverside right b4 i left i put a big big dent in it bbigest one i have

I guess I don't like to go out to a wheeling area and find a nice rock and get a flex shot and call it a day like a couple of you.
I bought my 4Runner to do one thing and one thing only WHEEL IT. If wanted something to look nice that I'd keep waxed I would have bought another Cobra. Now if I owned a 04 Taco you wouldn't see me wheeling it as hard as I do the Runner either.

Now you have made that comment more than once and you always seem to aim it at me...but if you recall I have done everything you have and will at least attempt everything that it put in front of my rig. I just like to do it with a little more finness. :p My rig is also purpose built like yours and although I will cry when that inevitable body damage happens, it will not keep me from doing any paticular trail or obsticle. You'r right and I believe everything you say. I understand the Brain was wanting to get back to camp that day, been there done that only my engine was locked up. I never heard anyone ask if anyone else wanted to keep going on that trail. I have heard of some the stuff that has been said about me and Drew at the last camp out after we left. I feel that me and Drew looked at like the black sheep of the group.

I know a guy in GATTORA that has that badlands bumper and it is sweet!
As for all of this other talk and whatever I think everyone likes to wheel thier truck a little differently. I know deep water doesn't bother some of you that much but it scares me, but some people are afraid of a little body damage or breaking crap and I don't mind a little wrinkle in the sheet metal. Everyone's different.

I don't know how to start. I've sat here trying to think of something witty to say in my defense. Although I shouldn't need to defend myself for wanting to "take it easy on my Toyota." I've had my share of beaten rigs. The last one was my 85 extracab. The bed rails saw trees every time I went out. There was not a straight panel on that truck, drive shafts twisted off and driving home in 4wd. I can go on if need be. I don't want to do that to my new Runner that I have worked so hard on, especially when I'm so close to being able to build my own body protection.
As for group events, the president and VP have the responsibility of making the unpopular decisions for the group as a whole. It has always been my philosophy to error on the side of caution. That being said, if someone does not feel comfortable doing an obstacle, making a water crossing, or subjecting their rig to unnecessary damage I will make the decision for the group to turn around. If anyone wants to continue on then so be it, so long as they can safely continue on. Rest assured that when Steven made the water crossing Brian and I both kicked ourselves and said that Steve made that look easy.
Lastly, and I'm sure that I have done this to some of you. If you are about to try something that has the potential for damage I will be the first one to tap on the drivers window and ask," Are you sure you want to try that?"
Because if I didn't, and you guys broke something or dented something or rolled over and it could have been prevented.....wouldn't you be pissed? I would be.

Neil I think you missunderstood what I was saying. If you go back a read my post you'll see that I say there isn't anything wrong with taking it easy on your rig. The main bitch I had was people going on and on about how I drive. The one thing that you said that I qouted about you getting your flex shots has always bothered me. The reason for this is it was like you and Brain are in charge and when either of you decide the ride it over its over and the rest of have to follow. When I lead a group of 4wds on a trail ride when the trail gets tight or nasty I stop and ask everyone if they want to keep going. I don't want anyone to do anything that they normally wouldn't. Like I said before this was just building up inside and I needed to let it out.
hey maybe steve dident wanna go all crazy on the trail becasue he had his child with him... but oh well cant we all just get along

Ill go ahgead and say my peace while everyone else is. Everyone has their own way of wheeling, and thats what makes a trail ride with a group interesting, as long as everyone is having fun and thinking safety for themselves and the group then its all good. As I have seen in our group everyone is safe and does what they feel comfortable doing. When someone does something that they may not feel comftorable doing, that is when something bad happens, peer preassure is a b!tch sometimes. If some one says no to doing an obstacle or something more than once and another person says come on do it, and they finally give in and do it they may or may not make it. As for me I wheel my truck less than some of you, and when I do go I dont wheel it all that hard, because 1) only vehicle which I drive at least 600 miles round trip to SC, GA, Tall., etc several times a month 2) not much money to fix it if it does break 3) and yes I like it to look nice every now and then. But I have had a lot of fun wheeling with everyone and will continue go on trips with yall when I can make it and can afford to make it. I wish I could go more offten, but I am trying to save money so that I can get out of Ponte Vedra and the money pit that i am living in, and into a house of my own. If I have said anything to offend anyone in the group I am sincerly sorry. We have a good core group of guys here and I hope that we can all have some more good times in the near future.

You do wheel your runner hard and there is nothing wrong with it (like I said as long as you are safe and everyone we wheel with is from what I have seen), I think that everyone was just pointing that out, not criticising. You have the right to wheel how you want, if you can fix it if it breaks, more power to you, wheel that sh!t out of your Toyota, find the few weak parts, and their always will be weak parts, and upgrade!!

See steven I think you are missing the point. For one, NO ONE IS BASHING YOUR DRIVING! We coment on it because, yes it is a little more crazy than we drive our own rigs but we like the the way you drive. Its different and its fantastically entertaining. If you think at any time that any of us are talking crap about you or anything like that you need to bring it up to that person or all of us. Dont sit on it and let it build up because then it ends up like this. Just a big mess started by one missunderstanding. I can remember neils comment very vividly and it was a joke! Ya know...ha ha funny? That was his maiden voyoage not only with his runner but having his wife on a camping trip. Same thing with brians comment, I was there. He was very distressed about his engine and then you go and just plow right through it like its nothing. Who wouldnt make a sarcastic comment about that? Can you see what I mean? If nothing else just ask if you dont understand or think you may have taken something the wrong way. And for fawks sake learn to take a joke!!! We all love wheeling with you and hanging out. Just remember that we are all cool and no one (at least everyone who is in the group right now) would ever talk shit about our own. Ok? Can we be done now? The big scrub camp ground isn't that bad but will be over run with ATVs. I'll have Emily and I don't want to worry about her getting hit by some jackass and me killing the jackass.
There is a camp ground on 42 (I think thats the road) that the power line trails are. Its really nice but isn't cheap, I think it's like $25 or $30 a night.

Yeah bastard we know that from the last campout when you tried to kill me and Steven :wife: LOL
Seems that everyone has put their two cents in, so here's mine.
Little known secret. The first time I wheeled with you guys at the pits, well it was my very first time wheeling. I was nervous to say the least. I'm just a fawkin noob.
I had a blast at the second campout. Minus the superficial body damage. Getting stuck sucked, but with people there to pull me out it made it not so bad. (my truck still smells funny)
Guess I will let you guys know why I didn't make it out Saturday. My viewpoint has somewhat changed since I have found out that I am going to be a dad. Jennifer stated when I told her that I was planning on going "Just don't break your truck, we can't afford to fix it now with the baby on the way." And that got me thinking... shit, what happens if something really was to happen? I mean sure, I have this brand new truck... huge tent... blah, blah, blah, but honestly I am pinching pennys to make ends meet.
I kick myself for not going. I really wish I could have been there... Mostly because I got the ball rolling and then dropped it. I feel like crap for doing that. And I feel likea a big vagina for letting the possibility for damage keep me from going. I know for a fact that if there was something that I didn't feel comfortable doing everyone would be cool with it.
Ok, end of rant.
Hopefully there are no hard feelings.

Its all good man. Like they say, haveing a baby changes EVERYTHING!!! But it doesnt have to effect you actually going wheeling (until you get where I am and your actually on baby watch  ) You just have to make a few adjustments to how you wheel. Maybe you cant hammer it as hard as you would like to but you can still go have fun doing easier stuff and laughing at everyone else when they break! :D

No it wasn't cool and I did get hurt. It was the first time I'd worn the jacket too.
