work un-safe smilies and avatars deleted

In the efforts to keep this forum work and family safe, all sexually explicit smilies and avatars have been deleted. All users on this board should be respectful for those who browse these forums from work.

All avatars are at the discretion of the mods of this board, if any of them find you image to be offensive or deemed work un-safe, you will be warned to remove it.

Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated.

It's cool to remove the avatars that are obscene just to keep things business like. This is a 4x4 forum after all not a who can shrink the best porn to fit into an avatar. But you guys know you can turn off all the avatars from being displayed in the account options right? I have to do that at work on any of the sportsbikes forums I go to at work. I'm not there often, usually just long enough to find info on my Ducati but damn if my boss walked in and saw some of those avatars.

No way Bryan I'm in I.T. The first 2 hours of work are on the internet and the last two are as well. Add in a 2 hour lunch and that only really leaves 2 hours for work. But you have to deduct for Espresso time and that usually takes an hour so we really only have 60 minutes for work related inconveniences. It only takes 30 minutes to fix the server and configure the router so that gives us a 30 minute cushion for clock watching.

Sounds like a sweet gig. One day at work, after getting a massive L-shaped desk, I decided to pull a Costanza and sleep under my desk until lunch, then took a 2 hour lunch at home and then went back to work and told everyone to go home for the day. Those were good times.

I agree, if you get caught on the internet at work, I am sure your boss isn't going to be concerned with what avatars I am using, but rather WTF are you doing looking at the forum when you should be working.

Lots of people are allowed to use the internet while at work. I use the internet all day long. Mostly business related, but I do come here once in awhile. If I am looking at this message board and happen to come across something inappropriate just as a female co-worker is walking by.... I could end up in the HR office.

Also, many employers do extensive logging and analysis of their employee's internet access. Even if I am the only one to see a particular image or website, I could still get into trouble because of the content.

Keep the message board work safe, and don't worry about who is or isn't allowed to use the internet at work.

So what about Active Duty Military personnel that have no choice but to use DOD ISP's and are allowed to browse the internet during their off time but still have to ensure the content isnt offensive to anyone.

The final result is this is a fourwheeling board, why not make it easy on everyone and keep it that way.

What about people using their employer's internet connection during their breaks? Or what about people who have very flexible schedules and can pretty much do what they want as long as they get their work done? What about the boss who can do whatever he wants all day long, but still has to make sure the content is work safe?

Having work safe avatars is not ridiculous. I don't know what you do for a living, but I am surrounded by computers and internet connections all day every day, as are several others here.

Well, I currently am going to school, but I have had jobs where there were opportunities to surf the internet if I so desired... i.e. service advisor. But I feel that it is pretty unprofessional to be typing in a forum, or searching for something on ebay, while a customer is walking up to ask you a question. I tried to keep to things that would be benificial to my employer, rather than entertaining myself.
