Nice rig, welcome aboard.
How is the clearance at the rear of the front fender during full stuff, with the steering turned fully toward the stuff side? It looks a little tight in a few of your pics.

Thnx! I like yours, want to trade :D There are others maybe 3 before mine and a few coming soon, right Scott ;)

With the shackles being in the rear on the front springs it pushes the wheel back at full stuff a lot so I had to do some fender trimming but that’s it. The axle is about 4" forward so it helps. When I go to 40's this summer I will have a 3 link set up so the wheels will move away from the fender. I'm trying to stay at the same suspension height with 40's so wish me luck. :welder:

what is the bolt pattern with a T-100
I have a friend with a mid 90's T-100 and he wants to buy my 15x8 Rockcrawlers with 33" ProComp MT's
are the rims the same and backspacing, etc?
its the same as the 4x4 6 lug toys and 6 lug full size chevy's

I don't know if Scott will ever finish his. :D
Seriously though, it looks like he is getting pretty close from the last round of pics
He should have it driving soon. Turning the knuckles will take a while depending mostly on if he bought the weld on shims already or not. Hopefully he will tell us that with dual cased you don't have turn the knuckles which would make my life easier when I got up to a 60.
BTW I have a guy here at home that has dual cases for sale for $300. They are 21 spline (so I’ll have upgrade) with stock gearing in both cases. The only thing I would need is an adapter for my tranny to the gear driven case. Do you think that’s a good price?
Cheers

I keep in pretty regular contact with Scott. He definitely has to rotate the knuckles [I seem to recall something like 6-7 degrees] even with the dual cases. His pinion angle was pretty good with his planned CV driveshaft, but his caster was too negative.
As you probably already know, he is running front shackles, so your application may be slightly different. With your spring angle, the caster might be OK, but the pinion angle might be a little low with a CV driveshaft; if you use a regular driveshaft, you might get lucky.
3 Franklins for a pair of gear cases with the adapter sounds like a good deal; heck, the adapter alone is that much new. You may want to check with Marlin about what is involved with the adapter [?simply swapping out the sleeve] if you go to 23-spline. Just curious, do you have an auto or a manual; if an auto, 2.28/2.28 is probably just fine?
As far as "needing" to upgrade from 21-spline, I have been running my gear case for right at 20 years, and have only broken one input shaft. Bear in mind that for 18 of those years, I have had a 4.3/T-350 in front of it. I broke the shaft when shifting from reverse to drive while rolling backwards down a hill with 38's, so they are pretty tough.
I just recently put 4.7's in, since I don't have enough wheelbase to do dual cases very easily. I stuck with 21-spline since I didn't want to have to change the output shaft in my tranny. Marlin's gears are definitely much beefier than the factory input shaft, particularly in the critical area where I snapped mine.

yeah mine is a stick. Thats good hear about the 21 spline. I just figure that since I will have everything apart I might as well shell out the $180 and upgrade the front case also.
Re the adapter, are you saying there might be a different adapter for the 21 and 23 spline shafts?
BTW these cases come with the E-brake also. :D

E-brake included, and you haven't bought them already?
The adapter has a sleeve in it that couples the output of the front case to the input of the rear case; if you change the rear input to 23-spline, than I would assume the sleeve needs changing as well. Marlin is usually pretty good about offering some "salvage value" for parts that are being swapped out, so the $$$ might not be too bad.
Since you said upgrade the front "too", is it safe to assume that you are going with 4.7's in the rear case with your manual tranny? If so, you might as well get the 23-spline front as well, particularly considering the deal you are getting on the cases, and that you don't yet own the tranny to front case adapter.
The guy is pulling these out of his rig so thats what is holding me back. Yeah I am planning on getting the 4.70's in the rear case. That should be enough to turn 40's with 5.38's
oops, thnx for moving my newbie post and sorry

It wasn't me that moved it; I guess one of the other guys did it. Oh well, no big deal either way.
