You should have cut the hole more towards the front around were the box is. Thats how my snorkle is set up. I posted a pic of where my hole is in your 1st snorkle post.

Yeah I seen that pic...If I could have done that I would have but the upper body would have nothing to hold on then..These were made for the aussie deisel and from what I can tell from the ins that came with it...The air box is right there...DAMN GAS ANYWYAS...O well..It works

Shouldnt it have come with everything you need to hook it all the way up? You shouldnt have had to go get more stuff I think. Good job finishing it off but it doesnt look right to me. Are you sure you were not missing parts? I would also worry about that pipe getting VERY hot and possibly melting if not at least deforming. :2cents:

What do you mean the UPPER body wouldn't have anything to hold too?
Also that 2" pipe may not let enough air in.

If you look at the pic of it on his truck you can see that it can not be moved any more forward because then the tube going up would not reach and mount on the A pillar like it is supposed to. The whole had to be there. I think he may have gotten the wrong package or was missing piping or something.

the snorkel body has a 4 1/2 inch long tube coming off it to run through the fender...If i would have moved that more foward the upper body would have nothin to hold on to..The stock air hose to the box was only 1 3/4 inch with a splash guard...I drove it and I got more power through all gears and a better idel

Its the right one...Lookd all over the net for people that put this on the years of rig and none come with any thing to hook up to a gas motor and no nothing was missing

That sounds kind of retarded?!? How much did you pay for that? How many gas rigs out there have or want one of these? And they dont make one specifically for it? Did it at least come with instructions or clues on how to finish it off?

oh well, you did a good job. paint it black and seal up everything and it will be clean!
2" should let enough air in for a 22re intake. 2" is good enough for the hot, expanded exhaust gases, so why would you need bigger pipe for the cool air going to the intake?

You didn't understand what I ment.
Instead of you cutting the INNER fire wall hole where you did, you should cut it more torwards the front which would have put it right by the AIRBOX. ARB had the elbows that run the snorkle inside the fend and another elbow the turns at the hole then hoses that hook up to the airbox. Go back and look at the pic I posted in yoru 1st post with my fender off to get a idea of where I'm taking about.

Go and compare your intake hose to your exhaust pipe and you'll see that one is 3" to 4" and the other 2". Just my :2cents:
The hoses on my snorkle are 3" and have more direct path to the air box, those sharp turns will hurt proformance too. :2cents:

ok.... check the diameter of the afm. that's all that counts
tiny
at least it's gonna keep the engine from hydrolock.... isn't that what counts?

I had taken a tape and mesured the opening on the org hose and it was only 1 3/4 the hose is bigger towards the center..I didnt know that they sold the elbows to run it inside the fender or I would have bought the kit...Ive been driving it all day and dont have any problems with it but the oppeset ..It seems to run better...stronger pick up through the gears...My water temp went down 8-9 degrees and its idelin better
And yes diesels are cool...I WISH I HAD ONE :(
