Recently I have had Jordan do all the welding on it. He is a 20 year kid that works for me. He welds all day long and has gotten really good! The last thing I welded on his truck were those spring hangers and they weren't the greatest welds so I had him do the most recently stuff..:0)

well if it was a weekend and traffic was light it could be about a 45-60 minute drive if coming from surprise (i've done it) :) from glendale depending on where probably about the same, but if there's traffic yeah your looking at about 1.5hr.
good luck with the move and house finding, there's a ton on the market still. i just moved from surprise to peoria, and actually the house next to the one i just bought is still for sale i think its a 3 or 4 bedroom with a den and a pool.

ummm... no.... Im not convinced that a link and coilover setup wheels any better than a leaf setup. And the way my truck rode I was completely happy with. So adding the extra cost and effort what in my opinion has no gain just does not make sense. Im the first to do something cool if its worth while... but I just dont think the coilover and link setup is.

Hmmm, nowhere do I see I said they suck, nor did I say I did or did not run them and it is clear that I referenced to info I'd gotten from others who did have them and who are running Marlins and expressed the big difference and improved ride the Marlins had. Why are you so sensative about ANYTHING different from what you do?
I am not trying to pick a fight, why are you so eager to jump to conclusions that anything I said was a negative reflection on you and thus take things so personally and as if it were an afront on you? As for the off the shelf comment/joke I used a WINK smily indicating I was kidding with you because you have always stressed how you want to be able to go to any parts store to get a replacement, from your battery, to axle spares etc, it was a joke. Sorry I even bothered to show the slightest interest in what you are doing. :banghead: Sheesh.

[QUOTE=Captkirkyota]Hmmm, nowhere do I see I said they suck, nor did I say I <<You gonna go with better leafs than the 44044's at least?>>
Well... the comment that you made above suggested that I needed soemthing better. When I dont think there is anything wrong with them. There certainly was no interest in what I was doing with my truck... just bashing what I did have.
And Im not sensitive from anything different from what I do. Ive just built alot of rigs and I know what works for me. Ive changed how I do things and have used other peoples ideas a bunch of times.
The reason Im sensitive with you is it seems your entire attitude has changed since you got your truck swapped. Its really about time somebody came out and said it. Me personally... Im sick of hearing you say how great your truck is and bomb proof and unbreakable it is. Its just a truck dude... I cant list everything you have said since you finished yoru truck... but the latest thing was when shelly and I arrived at az rocks... and we overheard you on the phone talking to somebody... and you described your truck as "its a super huge bass ass white Tacoma" or something along those lines.
Anyway... we are all guilty of it from time to time but yet you seem to take it over the top. Im glad you got the baddest Tacoma ever.... bud you should try to be a little more humble about it. Your Christian views certainly do not shine through when it comes to your truck.
I probably should have sent this through email.... but I figured I would reply to your previous post on here. but you can consider it a dead issue now. I have spoken my mind and I figure I will just accept the fact that you and I are not going to get along!

Ron, please do not assume you know what my thoughts or intentions are, you are not a mind reader.
>>>And Im not sensitive from anything different from what I do.<<<
Your seemingly automatic and immediate defensiveness in the past, or appearance of it, has lead to such a conclusion, if wrong, my apoligies.
>>>Ive just built alot of rigs and I know what works for me. Ive changed how I do things and have used other peoples ideas a bunch of times.<<<
Very true, Props. Also why I asked the question in the first place.
The reason Im sensitive with you is it seems your entire attitude has changed since you got your truck swapped. Its really about time somebody came out and said it. Me personally... >>>>>Im sick of hearing you say how great your truck is and bomb proof and unbreakable it is.<<<<<
I have never claimed that my truck, more specifically when I talk about my truck as it is built, I have not said it was unbreakable, true, I am very pleased and proud of my truck, aren't we all? I am happy to share my opinion with my choice in parts, and like you and EVERYONE else, will chime in when something comes up to correct miss info or inform someone who is asking about parts for their swap. I know there are stronger 3rd options, and have PLAINLY stated that the way it has been built, is the strongest way possible as of now, one can build axles with TOYOTA based parts, I share this info freely with people, who also want or may be concidering, or may not be aware that they can stay all metric and Toyota parts, and not have to put Dana stuff on there truck. You guys who pioneered the swaps did all the front work, and because of it, people who have come along behind have benefitted from your trials and errors, but that does not mean you have to be so defensive to anything different from yours, like you have always clearly been Ron, sorry, but even people on here who don't like me much agree on that. I personally am thrilled for Eric and the way his truck is, and also for Blacksheep and his as close as one can get to indestructable axles and set up. I look forward with enthusiasm for heatstroke and others who are soon to go under the :saw: it is a great feeling to have your truck swapped and I have ZERO animosity toward people who are doing it different from me. That is what is so cool about so many options, I will oogle over each truck with genuine enthusiasm.
Its just a truck dude... I cant list everything you have said since you finished yoru truck... but the latest thing was when shelly and I arrived at az rocks...
>>>>> and we overheard you on the phone talking to somebody... and you described your truck as "its a super huge bass ass white Tacoma" or something along those lines.<<<<<
One of the big problems over hearsay, especially when hearing one end of a phone conversation, is lack of proper context.
I was leaving, I was broken, I was also talking to my wife, we were having a laugh at how someone else had commented on my truck, among other topics of talk, ,but you just lept to another conclusion, as a few others have done. Seems a lot of people around here just have no benefit of the doubt to give out.
Anyway... we are all guilty of it from time to time but yet you seem to take it over the top. Im glad you got the baddest Tacoma ever....
>>>>bud you should try to be a little more humble about it. Your Christian views certainly do not shine through when it comes to your truck. <<<<
Again,I do love my truck, but just because I do freely talk about it and how happy I am with it does not mean I have no sence of proportion.
You don't remember, obviously, how you were when you had yours done, some of the same BS you have slandered me with here, was floating around about you a couple years back, it was crap then, just as this is toward me.
I probably should have sent this through email.... but I figured I would reply to your previous post on here.
>>>>> but you can consider it a dead issue now. <<<<<
Easy for you to say, since you made all kinds of inacurate claims.
I have spoken my mind and
>>>>>I figure I will just accept the fact that you and I are not going to get along!<<<<<
This is also news to me, I never thought we did not get along, since I have on many occasions reached out to you and expressed genuine interest/concern for you and your whole families well being. Bummer you feel this way.
Thake care!

I wasn't talking to you but about you so STFU.
What ever it is you'd better get it done in time for the Rubicon. If it ever quits raining and snowing that is. If it doesn't soon, there may be no Rubicon run to worry about. I'm already concered about Dusy ever melting off this season. Normally it takes until around mid August sometime as it is. Maybe we'll have a hot spring if and when it ever gets here.
BTW You guys did an excellent job with the weather for AZ Rocks this year. It came a little shower Sunday morning just enough cool things off and wash the dust off the truck for the drive home. Perfectly planned IMHO. LOL

My new truck will definatley be done for the Rubicon. Without a doubt! That is the goal that I set myself. And was the biggest reason for having the TV's all installed in the truck lol. The entire family is completely excited!

He never said that it couldn't be a rubber check.... I doubt that I have that kind of cash anyway I'll just have to build it myself.
