Picture Compression?

What application do you all use to compress images, etc? I would like to modify my avatar and don't have an application installed locally that will compress the image to the necessary size.

You can use Photo Shop, or Fireworks. If you don't have a copy of those two you can use the free software by google called Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/)

Thanks - I actually found an application that I downloaded, just forgot to install..worked fine!
