37's
Um yea 12.50's will work actually, so slap your friend that told you that. Or if you want run 33.10.50's :dunno: won't give you as much traction but you should stick fine.

And I'm just messing with you I run 32's. Only cause I'm a 4 banger and I wanted to keep some "hoo-rah" because sometimes I run trails with the 4x guys.

Not true.
Why not? 10.5 compared to 12.5= 1" on each side so you would THINK that would give you a wider print in sand...seems like common logic to me.

Surface area has no effect on friction/traction on dry surfaces, given the same tire pressure and all else equal.
On soft surfaces, there may be an increase in ability to move over the surface due to flotation of a wider tire, but that is not a function of traction.
I had this discussion with Scott Brady of Expeditions West and he has come to the conclusion from real-world testing that a narrower tire offers better traction due in no small part to the increased contact pressure, which would simulate increased normal force (the ground pushing against the tire) in the formula for friction. When you increase the contact pressure you increase traction on most surfaces.

Ok I guess we have different opinions on traction :dunno: I understand your point but what I'm saying is that on soft sand, the wider the better. And it may not give you better traction but it will help you move a lot easier...

It helps in sand, but that is one of the few areas.

Yea I get what you're saying. Well with what I do I'm usually in sand or soft dirt ;) I'll work on my definition of traction next time
