Heres the situation: My buddy has a 02 tundra, rear window just cracked when he left it outside here in NY for a week...dont really know why. It essentially shattered but stayed in tact. Didnt see any point of impact, anyway, onto my question:

Toyota says the only way to replace the one panel on the non-powered slider rear is to replace the whole assembly (three panes = 500 bucks). Nothing on ebay at the moment, what are his options?

you can order just the window pane that is broken, but you ahve to disassemble the whole window frame to install the new one and when i did that on my 99 tacoma it ended up leaking like a whore on monday when i got it all back together. Best thing to do is just order an entire rear replacement and install it yourself - or check around in some junk yards - might have one laying around somewhere. good luck.
