Your attaching the images.....you dont need to do that. Look at the webalbum I created, and right-click "copy image location". then inside your message; click on the icon just below the 'size' dropdown window (the icon with the mountain on it). It will then ask WHERE the picture you want to attach is stored, paste the link you copied from the webalbum. Then click "preview post" and see if it shows up....or ask your 20 year old how to use the internet.....

hey man, nice bumper! I was checking out the other pictures of your truck.....what are the silver bracket/mounts along both sides of the bed? Are they tie down points?

Thanks...and nice truck! :)

They are tie downs that drop flush. Nothing to catch on, but very strong. No springs or snaps just gravity. I got 4 chrome and then I went back for 2 more all they had was black
Some said they would rattle but they don't.

AJ does great work.
I put a high lift jack rack under the tire on the lower cross bar is the only changeI have made.
The bumper stiffened up the rear of the frame.
No side flexing/twisting.

That's a great looking bumper. One question though: What stops the swing out tire carrier from swinging out too far and hitting the body? Is there something built in to that hinge?

I added a heavy duty bungi cord after it swang open and clipped my kids car but with all the dings he has he'll never notice.
I am trying to figure something better.

Where did you get the license plate bracket? I have been looking to build a bumper like this with the "hidden receiver."

Thanks!

AJ supplies those with purchase of his rear bumpers...And I THINK that was the last one he currently had....Give him or Emily a call and see if you can buy one from them.

A.J. / Bentup does great work! I'm just not a fan of those spindles on swingouts.

Tankota- did you fab yours? I like the tire to the side for better vision out the back but haven't seen many for sale.
Thanks!

Yup, I designed it and did some of the welding after my Rockstomper one broke, Jason at Demello off-road helped with the rest that I was still too much of a newbie at fabing to do.. ;) That's the exact reason I put it on the side was visability, down side is having it on the drivers side adds to the lean that's already there from the gas tank, etc being on that side.. but if I put it on the passanger side it would be been one big blind spot for that corner.

Jason has made quite a few after that on a one by one basis, and I think he said he's coming out with a production one soon. His current ones look much better than mine, mine is overbuilt and was the first one like it either of us did so a lot was learned from it.. :D

Thanks David for responding- I really like Jasons work, but it comes at a price. might have to save for a while, need sliders too=] Do you have room for a gas tank as well on that bumper? I think that would be a good add. So you think the drivers side is best for the spare? Lean sux, but not seeing and accidents are worse=[ I really like your rig, lots of ?'s but I'll stick with the bumper for now=]
thanks again,
Brian
PS- looks like we are neighbors... well, relatively(sp) speaking in the scope of all TTORA. I am a photographer as well I'll have to hit ya up for good adventures for pix some day=]

I designed it so that the passanger side I can swap what's bolted to it, right now I have a large ammo can thats storing tow straps etc for easy access, but I can easly unbolt it and bolt gas cans there, or anything else I think of.. on the two crossmembers I made 8 mounting points. I just try not to store too much weight on the end, even though my frame has been reinforced I try and not take chances..

I will check your website for close up pix... I have ammo cans in the back but haven't figured out a way to mount them without permanently bolting them. I was thinking of a rachet\stap system or clamps or something. A nice bumper would be a good solution=]
thanks again!
