After Mike's roll I started to try and come up with ways to tie all the crap down that I carry in the cab on long-distance wheeling trips...ie, all the camping gear, etc.

I also keep my Hi-lift in the cab as I don't have a way to secure it in the bed just now.

All this stuff can become pretty darn dangerous on the trail whether you roll your rig or not...gear shifts; that's a fact ;)

What to do??

In the 4yrs that's I've had my truck I've used the rear jump-seats and seatbelts exactly once...and that was back when the truck was stock.
So...out they came. This left me with a bunch of useless parts and a bunch of mounting points for tiedown anchors ;)

After canibalizing the seatbelts I was able to utilize some things like the buckles (had to ream them out to accept the S-hooks) and bolts...the rest went into the trash.
what I came up with should enable me to strap down just about anything I stuff back there and keep it from flying around while wheeling :D

I found the vinal coated S-hooks on line, http://www.strapworks.com , and bought some cheap straps from the hardware store as well as several ft of 1" strap material
made up some straps ;) I should have just bought the buckles from the same company I got the hooks from...o well, so I don't color match and I'd already bought the buckled straps

thanks, they have been working very well. I also have 1/2 of one of those bed nets (bought some hog rings and pliers to finish it off) that keeps light stuff like jackets, sleeping bags, etc. from flying around. I got rid of the little fridge...didn't work very well. The eventually hi-lift went on the bed rack.
