Excab tiedown system, pt 2

I usually wind up with a lot of light-weight stuff just crammed up high in the back (jackets, sleeping bag, etc) and it all goes flying forward when I go downhill or hit the brakes :eek:

With all the new anchor pts I figured an elastic webbing like what I have for the bed would work. At the moment I have the bed-sized one but will either look for a smaller one or cut this one down to size.

this should let me stuff the back and not worry about the little stuff flying forward :D
I thought of just using this at one point but that wouldn't hold the heavier things down at all.

I've worried about that too and have always wanted an excuse to get rid of that crappy seat.
I don't know about velcro but that wing nut!!!I'm sure its well secured. I see my next project.

the heavy end is bolted down. I just used the velcro strap on the very end as well as to keep the lift part from sliding up and down the I-beam. those little velcro straps are pretty stout for light duty.

I try and use stuff that I have lying around in the garage. ;) I pick up all kinds of crap at garage sales (you already know that, LOL) and hope to come up with a use some day. I'm also too cheap to just go out and buy a lot of stuff that I figure I can make out of what I have in the garage :p

I found those little 1" hd rings at OSH but had to make the straps for them. I thought about a bunch of bungies but they aren't adjustable so I scrapped that idea. the buckle straps work great. OSH has some but they are like 10' long. The blue ones you see in the pics are from OSH. the little red straps I got from Yardbird in Martinez but they only have the buckle.
the s-hooks are from http://www.strapworks.com but they also have the buckles and strap material for cheap. they I had them in two days after ordering. They can make custom length straps to order for a good price.
the larger flush D-rings are from that trailer supply place in Martinez on Pacheco next to hwy 4.

I fabbed some rings from the local hardware store.
I will replace the bungis with some straps.
knocked all the plastic off the the clips by the window.
They are pretty chrome.
I'm going to keep my eye open for a small bungi net
