where. I'm located in NC at FT.BRAGG. I don't do a lot of driving around so I don't use gas that much. I would like to use my truck for trails and camping on the weekends. I Was thinking the trd supercharger. Umm I'm also interested in any suggestion in general that could help make my truck more off-road worthy. I would like to buff my engine up a little and add buff my suspension. Ok say u had 4-5k to use to upgrade on your stock 99' v6 3.4L trd tacoma what would you buy. Any info appreciate. Thank for the reply guys. Hope to hear more

I would go with the following:
Get a package deal on suspension stuff from Demello or Wheelers:
Donahoe Coil Over Shocks for the Front
Deaver 8 Leaf Springs for the back, or 10 Leaf's if you carry a lot of heavy stuff.
Bilstein 7100 Rear Shocks, or Donahoe Rear Shocks
Get a package Deal on Armor from CBI, Stubbs, Badland, etc:
Rock Sliders
Custom Front Winch Bumper
Custom Rear Bumper
Get Roger Brown's awesome Greasable Shackles
All this should run you around $3500 +/- so far.
If you need new tires, get some 32's or 33's.
If you have enough left pick up a used super charger off the classifieds here, or exhaust, etc. or whatever else you feel would beef up your engine's performance.

you have turbo lag when you go with a turbo, the supercharge has no lag

I think a supercharger and all the necessary fuel mods, etc. to get it to run optimally would be overkill and a waste of money for your stated needs (trails and camping on the weekends). I'd go with a setup similar to what HappyTrails suggested, but probably with SAW 2.0 coilovers instead of the Donahoe's. The SAW's are about 200-250 bucks cheaper and would serve your needs in NC just fine. Then I'd suggest MIOR sliders (http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25012), as they're a great product at a great price, and since he's fairly close to NC, shipping would be considerably cheaper than most other fabrication shops. As well, I'd suggest spending some time searching on here to see what style of bumpers you like and who has the best price on what you like. You could have your entire setup for around 3k or less if you take your time, research your purchases, and find the best deals.

I would do armor (sliders, bumpers, skidplates) first, lockers next, and lastly lift.
But that's just me.

whats up zack--- just got hoes and deavers to my door w/ 5100's for 1500 ; im also here in north carolina. there are some great local vendors as well to beat the west coast shipping shiite. check out budbuilt.com and rockdustfabriction for a couple---great products. i got the 2.7 so the v-6 is a rocket to me already, but id still go lift and armor first and there seems to be a bunch of s/c s around the classifieds for 1500 or so. allpro has a great armor package and my susp. stuff came from baja racing products. good luck
happy trails=== any reason to go 7100s over the 51's

For trail running and rock crawling there is no reason to go with 7100's over 5125's unless you just want to be able to say you have 7100's.

I wouldn't say that's entirely true. The 7100's do offer some advantages over the 5125's, even for trail running and rock crawling. Among them is their ability to be rebuilt, their availability in a wider variety of valvings, and their availability in short-body styles for increased travel in a smaller amount of space. Those are considerably more important factors for some folks than bragging rights.

We're talking about a guy who is just getting into the offroad world so the likelyhood he will be rebuilding them won't be for a while if he even has the ability to do so. The short body 7100's are just over 1 inch close to 1.5 inches shorter (short body) in 14" travel versions when extended than the 5125 and 1 inch shorter in collapsed length so the difference is marginal. Valving, you only get 2 more options than the 5125 in the 14" travel version so that really isn't much of a benefit either. My point being f you are trying to maxamize your dollars I wouldn't waste the money on 7100's again, unless you want to brag. My 5125's at all 4 corners work great with 255/70 valving.

Ok so all probally go with a pakage deal like happytrails suggested. Get a front winch and possibly roll-bar. Then a exhaust and a cool air intake to make up for the new weight. And maybe some time down road all get a supercharger.

I would go this route as well. Actually that is the route I am going. I have added rock sliders, skids and locker guard probably about 1K worth of armor so far. My next step will be some brake up grades then lift and larger tires.

I have a 2001 tacoma 4x4. i got a 3" lift front and rear, front and rear bumpers, rocker gaurds, e-locker skidplate, t-case skidplate, and diff armor from All Pro Off Road, and 285/75R16 Goodyear MTR'S for about $4171, to be pretty close. i am very happy with the way it turned out. it looks awesome and works great off road.
