Tellico this weekend - Facility Problems

Hi all,

I recieved a call from the owner of Crawfords Camp and he requested we cancel our camping at his facility this weekend due to a major power and water problem and bathroom facilities would not be available either - issues there too. He sounded quite upset that he was having to do this, but wanted to give us enough time to make other arrangements. He does not want anyone to bad mouth his place for not having those convieniences available all weekend.

I have thought about it a lot and really don't want to cancel our plans as it was all coming together nicely. I have decided that I am going to call him in the morning and ask if we can still come out, camp and use his rock garden as that was my origional intent. We can bring our own porta potty and wrap it in a tarp, and we can bring additional 5 gallon containers of water to wash dishes and other things with etc. I still plan on having BBQ available for those returning from the days wheeliing in Tellico ORV for the day (just use the bathroom at the pay station on your way back to minimize potty use).

If anyone has additional ideas in lew of cancelling, please let me know. I am calling him at around 9 AM in the morning and will post his answer about us even showing up. There may be a chance that he does get it fixed before the weekend, but I'm not counting on it by the way he sounded.

I'll post around 10 or 11 AM on this thread to update you all.

NEW INFORMATION - Wednesday 8:30 AM
I just spoke to the owner and he said it would be fine for us to still come down and camp. He said it is likely that the bath house will be up and running by Saturday, but he did not want anyone to arrive expecting it to be, and then turn around and bad moth the place because it was unfortunately not. We still have the same 3 sites booked for Friday and Saturday nights. "Come bath house or not" or is it "rain or shine" See you all there this weekend.

Sounds good to me, guys. I got the CV done on my truck, yesterday, now all I need to do when I get up there is put the skid plate back under the truck. I need to go get some bolts to use, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Of course the only diffrence between and eletric site and non eletric is $1 if two people stay on the eletric site.

OK well thanks for the information, I've got it taken care of for the 3 sites I booked. Like I said in my origional post - Team Trailcarnage is sponsoring camping, so Yes 6 people are covered in the 3 site fees for the 2 nights - then anyone else in addition to those 6 are covered by a fee of $7.50 per person up to as many as we can fit into the 3 sites. You're covered as long as you stay within those 3 sites. No reason for anyone not to join us this weekend. We are all just going to have a blast regardless. Looking forward to it a lot.
