Just thought I would share a quick picture of a project I just completed for a class here at Millersville. Met with the homeowner, discussed budget, went over some rough plans and ideas, then drew up some finalized designs, finalized the material ordering, and built it on site, all in a matter of three weeks. I"m pretty happy with how it turned out. He just wanted a very open trellis-like deck that would allow him to plant rose bushes and various vines around.

Matt, nice work, man.
Mark,
You should make the frame out of big logs and put a regular roof on top of that. A friend of mine did his like that, and it's the nicest setup I've seen. Even better if you lay a slab first.
