The Eagle Lakes/Fordyce area is basically closed. Some jackass hijacked one of the tractors, dug a huge hole in the middle of the trail, and sunk the thing in it. Forest service told the logging company to drop a bunch of trees across the trail and they will sort it all out in the spring when the snow is done melting.
So basically, we have to go someplace else. Maybe Mormon Emigrant trail? That's always good for a huge clusterfuck in the snow. :D

Hmm, might be able to do that. what days?any day,any time.
i scouted hwy 120 up past strawberry this sunday and all the roads were gated.
this new storm should get us snow availability anywhere.
nor-cal snow run.time to generate some interest.same place,or someplace new?
Since this current storm is gonna dump snow for a week, we should be able to have lots of fun on Mormon Emigrant trail. Instead of taking Mormon Emigrant all the way to 88, we could take North-South road. Less traffic and more virgin snow.
Whadda ya think? Wheel until we all get stuck, and then camp?
