I just went through the literature and the website and I could not find any sniff of information on which Amsoil oil filter to order for the Toyota 3.4L engine...
bah humbug!

last person that had it was i think carl. but essentially its a hollow filter with tubes leading from it to a dual filter mount so that you can have a prefilter and a final filter for your oil.... somewhat overkill for a taco but worth if if you dont like spilling oil.... you gotta find somewhere where you can fit 2 oil filters worth of space though

still looking for which filter to use though...even w/o the bypass...ah well, I suppose I'll stick with the Toyota filters for now

EaO57/SDF57 for the 3.4L filter .... this filter is manufacture by Wix for Amsoil so I'm sure there will be a similar nano-fiber filter at the local parts store before to long with out the distributors mark up of Amsoil.
gasoline doesn't burn clean enough not to have contamination issues...convert the truck to a cleaner burning fuel and then the filter won't be an issue and the oil will stay cleaner!
the OEM filter is well built and designed, for the price you can't beat it... until you modify the engine to the point that you are upping the oil pressure requirements there is no need to use anything else.
Don't buy into an extended drain interval filter unless it is significantly adding oil capacity relative to the engines capacity, say 8+ quarts total (you might as well buy a larger oil pan for $15) or is tripling the filter media surface or doing all of the above.
The nanofiber media is a quality filtration media but it isn't $15+ good! a good filter will filter out 10 -12 micron particles and not reduce oil pressure significantly to reduce performance...Amsoil again throws out these stupid measures of comparison to exaggerate their products ability
... unburned gasoline, water and coolant don't give a shit what filter you have because oil filters don't catch fluids, and will still create acidic conditions in the engine, create wear and reduce performance. Given time that will catch up in a gasoline burning engine no matter what oil or filters you have although the synthetics have a better capacity to suspend them...the best thing you can do is use quality gasoline ,and keep the engine and fuel system tuned up...which folks that go to extended drain intervals tend to quit doing!!
I have yet to see one person say their going to change the fuel filter every time they change the oil on an extended drain interval! expesually when the fuel filter does as much for keeping the engine clean!

Good info. I ordered the Amsoil oil this past week. I'm gonna stick with the Toyota oil filters, change the oil every 5K to 7.5K miles and not even bother with the Amsoil filters.
