hey guys i live in hawaii and im not only new to ttora but im new to prerunning and infact driving (almost 16). i just recently bought a 99 tacoma rerunner with a 4 inch lift and mud/baja tires and was woundering what would be the best/CHEAPEST mods to do for prerunning, would a long travel kit be good? if so can i get one that will work with my already 4'' lift? and any advice on the sport in genneral would be cool. also how has your guys prerunners been on the trails? remember im new so try not to flame me. thanks.

My folks live on Oahu and when i went to visit all i say were tacos with big suspension lifts and boggers. I'm not sure how well a LT would fare on Big Island. How's the terrain out there?

its perfect for off roading like mudding and rock crowling, but nobody really prerunns that much. your truck is sick! what did you put on for the long travel?

Thanks. It's a TC LT kit with Deaver 62's in back with 16 King Resi's. It might be more practical to look into an SAS if you got a lot of rock crawlin out there. But either way heavy on the wallet. A simple 3" suspension lift with leaf pack in back would be a good way to get great offroad performance for a good value.

There is no best and cheapest...especially when it comes to longtravel. Your "cheap" option would be some donahoe coilovers with upper control arms up front, and a deaver prerun pack with new shocks in the back. The best option would be an all-out LT kit, whether it be Total Chaos, Camburg, ESB, etc, up front and a rear end that will keep up. Most people go with 62" deavers for the rear.

Hawaii is pretty much brush and mud I don't think you'd get speed anywhere out there really. I wouldn't suggest LT with a 4" lift...that'd just make it tippy. I'd sell your old lift and invest in some quality coilovers and rear suspension. I wouldn't go LT since you'd never use it and since you're 16 you most likely don't have the money for it. My LT was based on a heavy heavy discount other wise I wouldn't have been able to afford everything in the signature...

well theres a few places to get speed but yeah not alot. is it possible to just get a-arms that will work with the same lift but have more travel and better for prerunning? thanks
