Ok, it's been bugging me for awhile until I figured out just what the new FJ looks like.. it's realy an FJ Cooper. Just increase it's size and extend the front a back a bit..

Not trying to bash them.. LOL.. I'm actually thinking of getting one and will be test driving one off-road this weekend with the FJ Cruiser Teams and TMC.

Too funny...
Checked out your photo gallery. You've really got some great work on there. I especially like your infrared shots.

thats funny
those infrared shots are awesome. I really enjoyed working with infrared film the one time I did it but due to the cost, difficulty of use, and a lack of my own darkroom has kept me working with digital. keep up the good work.

Now if we can just get the FJ as fast as the s/c Mini

Thanks! The real fun of all those infrared shots is that they were taken with a digital camera. I picked up an older Sony F-828 digital, and had it modfied for IR (removed the IR blocking filter in front of the sensor) The inital modification isn't cheap or easy, but after that I now had a digital camera that can shoot infrared all I want and can use diffrent filters - and never have to mess with the darkroom or film again.. Plus I get realtime live preview of Infrared with the 828.

when I had my own business, I "specialized" in creative Infrared photography. Both color and black and white.
But since I became "legit" and got a real 9-5 er, I haven't shot much if anything for my personal portfolio. guess I need to make it a point to do so. I have some film that has been sitting in the frig for 5+ years. I even have some old 4x5 stock in there that needs to be used!
What was that link you guys were talking about? I would like to see the infrared stuff. I guess I missed it the first time around.

After five years I doubt it's any good even though it was stored in a fridge. If you do your own processing, you can pull a roll, shoot some charts and stuff and see if you can get it to work. If it's B&W it may work, if color stock I doubt it.

If your film is old, shoot something 'artistic' and then X-process it :) .

If you follow the link in his sig, there's an "art photo" link on the left side of the page.
Caution: If you're not pining to get out in the wilderness, you will be after you check them out! Damn I wish I was back in Yosemite......

Hi Dave! It looks like Toyota has finally built a vehicle for me. I have to get married and buy a house first, though. Maybe by end of summer...
Did you drive the FJC at Hungry Valley? What are your thoughts?

I didn't get to drive it, but I rode around in it off-road as a passanger.. ran out of time before I could fight my way to the wheel.. lol. I have driven them on pavement though.
So far I like it, the stock suspension does realy well off-road, probably one of the nicer "stock" suspensions I've been off-road in. The viewpoint takes some getting used to with the short wide windshield and large side windows - and that big blind spot in the corners. But with the mirrors it didn't seem to be much of an issue. Everything else seemed nice, and performed fine on the limited stuff that was at HV,, didn't get to take it onto the rock garden or up Miller. But in it's stock form it's just as capable as my Tacoma was stock, put a lift and some tires and some armor for that stupid exaust crossover pipe and you should be set! It's not going to do the hammers though!
We are thinking of getting one too, so we'd have room for the kids off-road.. but have to wait until the wife goes back to work to see what the budget will hold. Now If they'd only put a 4:1 transfercase in it, and a front locker.. :D But from what I've seen, that a-track thingy actually seems to work pretty damn good, it's like a computer controled selectable locker for all 4 wheels, and only applies itself when needed, but I didn't get a chance to go realy test it out and see if I could screw it up like the older 4-runner traction control system. (I got the 4 runner so confused it basicaly just sat there and wouldn't move.. LOL..)

Saline Valley, at the warm springs - It's a remote part of Death Valley National Park... About as remote off-pavement as you can get in California at least.

Interesting...my wife likes the FJ specifically because, to her, it looks like a blown-up Cooper. Well, if that gets her to buy-in to getting one, so be it... :)
