Well on my way out of Jax and I get rear ended by a 2004 RSX. I had to come to dead stop due the traffic in front of me stoping and the Acura RSX didn't stop. So I he slams into the back of my new Frontier (please no Nissian jokes). The damage wasn't bad on the Forntier dented up bumper, bumper pushed into the bed, bed flex and put some small dents in the cab, back of bed is seprated from the bed floor around 1/8 inch, and sratched up the tail gate. I was on my way to SC for leave and had my dirt bike in the back so the tail gate was down. I'm glad that it wasn't another truck or a higher car then the Acura. The guy that hit me is also a Marine that is stationed in NC and from Jax, his dad is a retried Marine that lives here in Jax. They asked if I'd let him have it repared out of pocket to keep his son's insurance from going up. I don't have a problem with this but I want my truck to be fixed to the way it was before the wreck.

Yea, that sucks man. I had the same thing happen to me about 2 months ago. Was stopped for traffic and the ass behind me was on his phone and never hit the brakes. Good thing was he was driving a company van, and they where very cool about it and fixed everything with no problems. Hope everything works out and you get the truck fixed.

Sorry to hear about the new truck.

That's why I started driving trucks, I've been rear ended 3 times in small cars. I still get numbness in one of my shoulders from the last one.

Sounds like he mostly want under the back of yours. Hope you didn't get hurt.

Yeah I have a police report. The kid is also a Marine and which is why I'm going to give him a chance to fix my truck.

That's good,If I was in your position I would give them the chance to fix it this way also.I've just seen too many people get burned by not having a police report.Hope it work's out for ya.

It's going to cost them $1798 to fix. I'm going to give the qoute to kids dad today. I think they thought the only damage was the bumper which only cost $407. I wish they made a cool tube bumper like Marlin's or All Pro's, it really sucks that isn't an aftermarket for Nissan's like Toyota has.

A lot of the body shops will let you put your own bumper on as long as they have a reciept to post in their books. that's what I did with my front bumper on the tacoma... they'll credit $407 to you when you provide the "Aftermarket or custom" bumper. And they'll fix the rest for the quote.

There only one problem there Mike, they don't make a nice aftermarket bumper for the Frontier.

The 05 Frontier is wider then the 04 and older Frontier's. I'm not going to wheel it so I don't really care.
