Impressive list of coasters. Mine is only about 15 or 20, can't remember them all. I do know i have done the Cyclone in Cooney Island, 6 Flags San Antonio (both of them there), Sea World San Antonio, most of the coasters in Disney & Universal, and most of the ones at Carowinds in NC.

Love the wooden ones the best, may not be the fastest, but they get your blood moving the fastest!

My favs are the Cyclone (NYC) and the Dueling Dragon in Universal (FL).

 don't want to admit your first was iron dragon...

my first coaster was the the little dipper at conneaut lake park... (I think, either that or the jr. gemini at cedar point)

I never rode any big coasters till Mean Streak was built... my friends had all ridden Magnum XL200 the 1st year it opened, and I was too chicken... so I got the guts and rode Mean Streak the 1st year it was built...
that was my fav coaster till the installed the breaks on the 1st hill...

I probably won't be adding any more coasters to the list this year... but we shall see :dunno:

christine will be adding a bunch of coasters from cedar point ... hehe

I figured there would be a lot of rollercoaster freaks out there...

I have to give Mike credit. It takes a lot of work to get someone like myself to ride rollercoasters. He's succeeded, because he's used enthusiasm, encouragement, support, understanding and love. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to Cedar Point!

Mike - you should have gone wheeling with us. That guy who was in town has ridden a lot of 'coasters, including Kunda Ka - the one taller/faster than Top Thrill Dragster (by like 10' and 3 MPH...he said it was pretty much the same except there's a bump on the downhill so you catch a little air)

I've been on TTD twice, I am always hoping to be on a train which doesn't make it over and comes down backwords...
the past several trips, it was been shut down for part of the day but was running at least for a little bit

do you know the back way in to cedar point?
there is a parking lot back by camperland (actually right next to gemini), and the entrance to the park is inbetween Gemini and Magnum XL200... (which is right next to TTD)...
you may be able to beat the rush from the front gate to TTD if you get to the back gate just before they open ;o)
I usually park right next to the entrance to the hotel back there (right infront of gemini)... most people do not park in this lot...

OFRD_GRL
08-23-2006, 10:30 AM
No I dont think Ive gone that way. Ive always taken the pretty scenic road with all the nice houses right along the water.
Which is probably the way Ill take with Andy. You know show him the pretty drive and all :) Show him as much as possible while hes out here!

SuperPoser
08-23-2006, 11:04 AM
I too like taking the drive along the houses with water on both sides... hehe... much better than waiting in line on the causway...

anyway, when you get to the park... (only one or two booths using this way to the park), go straight to the opposite side of the parking lot, there is a road there, left will take you out of the park across the causway... turn right on this road,
the blue streak will be on the right side of this road... and famous daves will be on the left side of this road...
continue past MF and MS...
as you pass mean streak, there will be a large parking lot to the left, and a narrow parking lot to the right...

the parking lot I prefer is on the right... (next to gemini)... go all the way down closest to magnum xl200, and park there... the entrance is past the gocarts, and when you get into the park, thats right next to top thrill... (inbetween magnum xl200 and gemini)

They used to have a whole bunch of wooden rollercoasters before they moved it and Six Flags bought it (as a matter of fact, I don't think they had any steel coasters...) Some of them were brutal, just jerked you around all over the place!

height x loops x speed makes it good.
the bigger and faster the better.
unless they are so old that una can fall out from lack of safety equipment. those are fun for the sake i actually almost fall out LOL

nine coasters from Carowinds (http://www.rcdb.com/pd14.htm)

I didn't ride the kiddie coaster (missed it), the water coaster (didn't want to get soaked), or the wild mouse (it was shutdown)...

RCBS
07-18-2007, 01:21 PM
:D yes the Maverick is cool. no 300 ft drops or anything. but the fist one is slightly inverted. lots 'o twists and turns at speed. my only complaint was the shoulder harness is a bit unforgiving. (slight bruising) but i go 6'3" so i pretty much fill up the seat:)
