...... and how does this differ from the rest of the year?? In the summer you don't wheel cuz its too hot, in the winter you say it is too cold, too windy, dark too early, in the spring and fall it is not warm enough or cool enough yet, so again how does this differ from the rest of the year?? :bitchslap :xpfft: :flamethro

Who said anything about wheeling? What I said has nothing to do with wheeling. :flipoff4:

At least you can admit that you don't even so much as think about wheeling anymore............that 12 step program seems to be working! :flipoff4:

The Twelve Steps of Former Wheelers
1. We admitted we were powerless over the fear of wheeling—that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

And my A/C just died.
Our A/C died at 5:30 yesterday. Patty called her dad (he lives 6 doors away) for the A/C guy's phone number. Her dad told her somebody down the street had a unit sitting on the sidewalk, ready for the dump. I asked...they said the condensor coil(?) blew, so I could take whatever I wanted. I grabbed the motor starter(?) and the run capacitor(?), installed them and it's been working since. A totally free repair...I still don't believe how lucky we were.
AZTaco...I hope yours is fixed and everything's cool! Pun intended

Thanks. It was cleaned a few weeks ago so we called out the original company to take a look (I don't believe in coincidences). My wife put me on speaker phone and he proceeded to tell me my furnace unit is no longer made so the blower wheel needs to be made by Carrier specifically for me. The motor the blower is attached to also needs replacing. The outside units compressor is dead. He can replace my 13 SEER unit with a 10 SEER for $3k (includes getting the blower and motor replaced). He can replace my 13 SEER with another 13 SEER for $4500. My BS meter went off at custom-made blower wheel. I called a company recommended by someone at Naughton's (local family-owned plumbing supply). He said he could order the blower wheel, no problem and he doubted the rest of the other guys story. They came out yesterday and confirmed ONLY the blower wheel needs replacing. Nothing else. F'ing A/C guy. :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :xsmash: :asshat: Needless to say the second guy is fixing it today for $200 or so.

"we called out the original company to take a look"
You have to be *ucking kidding me. I would be getting on the phone after this new company fixes it and tell them what I think, both in English and in Spanish. (I think I know more swear words in Spanish). That is unbelievable. Things like that just make me boil over. CRAZY.
I hope everything turns out OK.

Fixed as of about 30 min. ago. We had to replace the blower motor as well cause the off balance blower wheel damaged it but still nowhere near $4500. Just over $500. I'm debating exactly how I should approach this with AriCo (beware in Tucson). They seem to just quote replacement parts, not actually diagnose a damn thing. It's like replacing the CPU and hard drive everytime there's an issue with your computer.
My wife says the temp is down to 90*. When I went by yerterday afternoon to get clothes it was 97*.
Thank God for businesses who employee good, knowledgeable and friendly people like Naughton's (referrer) and Qualified Heating and Cooling.
Thanks
