This is taken from the safety requirements of Toyota Trail Riders and is a good list of items that we should all have in our rigs at Takeover.

1. Roll bar or Cage for all vehicles with removed tops (Landcruisers and 4runners). Roll bar or Cage recommended for trucks with permanent hard tops.
2. Seat belts for all persons (must be used). Child Safety Seats must be used as required by law.
3. First Aid kit.
4. Fire extinguisher.
5. Shovel.
6. Tow rope, cable (when used with a winch) or strap.
7. C.B. radio (antenna should not be longer than 48"). Whip antennas must be secured.
8. Jack compatable with vehicle, lug wrench, and spare tire (usable, within one inch of vehicle tire height).
9. Flashlight (working).
10. One extraction point at both the front & rear of the vehicle.
11. Tire gauge
12. Serviced braking system with lights
13. Parking brake (may substitute a line lock or other similar device)

Of course you should bring any spare parts that you think you might need as well as the tools to change the spare parts. Also you will need to bring food, lots of water (it will be hot), toilet paper (just in case) and anything else you might need to survive the weekend.

Also, something that alot of people may not think about...Arkansas is famous for ticks and chiggers, especially during the summer time. I can promise you, if you go into any brush or tall weeded areas while you are there, chances are you will come out with a few ticks and red bugs on you. Best way to prevent them from getting on you is to wear your blue jeans (or long pants) with the cuffs stuffed down in your boots or shoes. More than likely that is how they will get on you...on your bare ankles and legs. So, something that you need to add to your 'list of stuff to bring'...Make sure you bring plenty of insect repellent! You'll want to spray the areas of your ankles and your waist line before you go out every morning. Once they get on you, they like to find the warmest spot on your body and setup camp. Also, when you strip down at night, check yourself for any stow aways!

make sure that bug spray has high percentages of deet. deet is what repels these kind of bugs. You can get some sprays that are close to 100% deet but most Off and Cutter sprays are 20-30% deet.

Just make sure you don't go off into any areas where the brush is really high. I know women need to find places a little more private than us men do, but you need to watch where you go...literally! :D

All I need is the fire extinguisher. Although I would like to add a full cage when the money tree comes back in season, which wont be for awhile

good pair of leather gloves go good along with you basic tools to replace broken parts. And having trail spares is a damn good idea, nothing worse than busting something and not haveing one or having to bum one off someone else
