Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, so I decided to post here.

I've got a 99 Taco extended cab 4x4. The BFG All-Terrain T/A's need replacing. (31x10.5 15). They have worked quite well. I've read lots of good things on Tire Rack about the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs, but don't want to pay that price. The Firestone Destination A/T looks comparable to the Bridgestone, but at a better price. What are the thoughts/experiences out there?

My driving is mostly highway, but when I go off road, I need something dependable. I work on mountain top radio systems, so the roads aren't always the best. I go up to Cheyenne Mountain (a cake walk), Almagre (Baldy, off Gold Camp Road), Badger Mountain (Wilkerson Pass), and Methodist Mountain (south of Salida).

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dave, in Colorado Springs.

i've had great luck w/ bfg's. i ran bfg a/t's for a good 40K before they showed signs of wear. i now run bfg m/t's and am very happy. yeah, they have a price tag, but dont skimp on tires. i got mine locally because if i ordered online then i still had to have them mounted and balanced. since i got them locally, m and b and road warranty was included and still came out cheaper than if i ordered online. by the way, if u can ever manage to take anyone up some of those trails to the radio towers, i could stand to see colo spgs from the top of cheyenne mtn!

I got about 100,000 miles out of my Bridgestone Dueller APT II tires from Sears.

I loved my BFGs, i have cooper discoverers, but they are not really good street tires, i think they will wear fast, thats when ill go back to my BFG a/t.

Thanks for the info on the BFGs. Not sure what I'm going to get yet, but I'll have to get some pretty soon as I don't want to trust my BFGs on the rocks. I go up on Cheyenne Mountain quite often, so send me you telephone number and I'll call you when I'm going up next.

if your looking to go to a mud tire,
firestone destinations are great!
great wear, great traction in rocks
above average in mud and sand
great in snow.

Thanks to all who replied about chosing tires. I stuck with the BFGs and made a trip to one of my radio sites on top of Methodist Mtn, just south of Salida. Road is rocky but the tires worked great. No second thoughts on the choice.

Thanks again,
Dave
