Meet “Jack” FREE TO A VERY GOOD HOME!!!
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i240/bosco53/100_1013.jpg
~Jack was found on the doorstep of our friends. We located his owner, who only had him to save him from a life of fighting. She cared about him but was unable to keep him since she didn’t have a yard. We offered to keep him and give him a happy place to stay until we could find him a permanent home.
~Jack is a 3 ˝ month old pit bull, possibly a mix. He is all black but looks dark brown in the sun, with a white patch on his chest and a little on his toes. He stands about knee high. He isn’t neutered yet, but will be.
~ He loves to play with our dog and is interested in the cats. He likes to chase toys if you throw them. He has learned to love the kiddy pool we have as well. He loves to go on walks and is very well behaved, staying at your side. Jack has been trained a little, he understands sit, lay-down, stay and come. He is definitely still a puppy, but very well behaved.
* Jack needs a home where someone has time to play with him and take him on walks. He will be a great dog for a family who is willing to continue teaching him the basics. All he wants is a loving home where he can count on staying. Jack has been moved three times at his very young age.
If you are interested please e-mail: tacogal53@hotmail.com If you leave a phone # we can call you back and also send more photos of Jack.

Bosco,
Nice little (puppy) pit bull, did you know that pit bull's are banned in most Florida counties. I know if you have a pit in Palm Beach you're looking @ $ and maybe J-time.
Of course not everybody plays by the law. Hope you find a good home for the dog.

The county feel that the pit bull is too aggressive... The pit bull has made the "news" too many times for mauling children. I seen a few of the pics, broke my heart, never want to see that again.

I saw a video once:
A guy had a pit and got bit by him... it was ok cos the pit just wanted to stay in the car for a car ride. but this guy only has one hand since his motorcycle wreck and he got conserned. said guy had his gun cos he knew that pits have a tendency to go cujo. the pit went to bite and outta shear reaction, the dude capped the dog in the mouth. the pit lost his bottom jaw to a .40 cal. Two minutes later the dude took pity and popped cujo's melon in the back seat of his car. Teeth Everywhere
Deleted this... Hope Jack finds a good home.

These are the assholes that train dogs to fight, shoot eachother and whatnot.

I'd supply both sides ammo if they were to shoot each other, just as long as no one was standing after it was said and done.
What a bunch of tools. Maybe we should implent the old punishment of drawing and quartering.
Sorry for the off topic rant...
If I could provide a good home to jack I would. Hope you find a good home for him free of ignorance and fear.

Different breeds of dogs have and harbor different traits, not only physical but mental and disposition wise. My dog "Rugby" at 8 years old just got his ride to the pound because he chased some neighborhood kids. Rugby was a Border collie lab mix with something else in him. He has become increasingly aggressive over the last 2 years, yet would play with "Dolly" like a puppy all day long.
Dogs have personalities just like people do . Some are just mean buttheads for no reason. But just like your homie gangbanger stereotype, dogs get stereotyped too. Staffordshire's are known to be best in a one dog household where they do not have to compete for the masters attention with other dogs. If not, they tend to beat up the other dogs which is often confused with being the alpha dominent dog in the house. staffordshires if given the oppourtunity will harass intimdate and eventually kill other household dogs if a different alpha is not present.
Many dogs personalities are products of the environment they live in. So many aggressive dogs don't need or know how to display there bad traits.
But do not ever forget that many dogs have been bred for physical and mental traits. Those traits are present and are the ones that will come to the surface first if provoked.
Labs if kicked long enough will avoid you, Pits if kicked long enough will bite you.
Its all genetics and instincts.
Sorry Mike but I have to disagree with you on this one.
So lets find "Jack" a good home. The right home.
End of hy"jack"
man i turn around and run them all over
and where the fuck are the cops at

Holy smokes. This thread sure blew up fast! I have to agree with both mike and neil. They both bring up good points. Theres to much for me to go into and its all already been discussed. I just love animals in general and I want to find Jack a good home. He is only 4 months old and already has quite a busy history. Many people have already tried to obtain him for fighting and breading purposes. I will not let him go unless I am positive it is to the best home available and he is fixed. I am sick an tired of seeing all the damn rednecks around here parked on the side of the road with their pit bull litters up for sale. If Jack must stay here with me then that is how it will be. Besides, he has become VERY good friends with my dog Destiny. Oh and she is a purebread Rotty who is also the sweetest most harmless BIG girl ever!!!
Neil,
I appreciate your knowlegable and thought out responce to my drunken rant.
I believe that if people were to research the dogs that they eventually get would prevent or alleviate alot of issues that dogs face. Yes, I am in total agreement with you about dogs have different traits and personalities. That is why there are specific breeds of dogs, bred for specific purposes. Certain types do well with other pets, certain types do well with children, certain types are better off with only one owner and no pets in the household.
What set me off was Cancel's post about the video of the dog getting shot, he was talking about it like it was a cool thing. I still stand by my initail comment that if you think that something like that is cool, let me know. Either here or through pm's.
Sorry to hijack once again. I hope jack finds a good home. If I wasn't in the situation of living in a small 2 bedroom apartment with a baby on the way I would definitely provide a home for the lil guy.

i'm too unfeeling. sorry to those i offended. i hope jack finds the best home.
Hey Bryan, I spoke with a girl that I work with about jack, her roomate teaches obedience classes and such, she is going to have her ask around and see if there are any RESPONSIBLE dog owners around that would be willing to give this guy a home. I'll keep you posted and let you know what develops, if anything.

Thanks man! That would be great!!! What does she charge for her classes?
Not sure about the price for classes and such.
The girl that I talked to is on leave right now and she won't be back to work for a couple of weeks, we had a command picnic on friday and that is when I saw her and talked to her.

Update that was emailed to friends earlier by my wife...
Well, the search to find Jack a home is not going well and even seems grim. I have been in contact with all the local shelters and even website's that help locate homes for animals while he stays here. All the information has been bad. I used pet-finders.com and the only responses I received where terrible people looking to use the "pit" in him for fighting or baiting. I cancelled that ad in less than 2 hours. The only no kill shelter has no space, I have called repeatedly. The humane society won't take him b/c he isn't our pet, and even if I were to lie about that they charge $50 just to take him and if they decide they can't adopt him out we have to pick him back up and still lose out on our $. I also thought that since he is a puppy that he would adopt easily if we gave him to animal control, so I called their adoption center. The gentleman was very nice and straight forward with me about what would happen. First and foremost the fact that he is part pit puts him in a bad category. Almost all pits, mixes included, aren't even considered for adoption, therefore he would be euthanized. I did talk to a man that takes in dogs to find them homes and he continued to bring in the bad info. He also has no space since he isn't an actual shelter, just a good person trying to save the lives of some animals.
I am just hoping that through word of mouth we can find him a home. If we were staying put for a long time, we could keep him, but that just isn't the case. We haven't even been able to get him to the vet yet.
Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to remind you guy's that we still have him and he still needs a great , SAFE home. If you can keep you eyes open for that home I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
nickcuban

did you try craigslist? im sure someone there might want him and its a free site. may be kind of risky to find a good home but worth a shot. good luck

It is worth a shot. I have a feeling we might be screwed unless I can find someone we know or someone that our friends know. This is a really bad region for these dogs. Its a bummer people have to be so ignorant and uncareing.
I normally dont and I hate doing this but we are a one income family...If anybody feels as strongly about this subject as we do and you are in a situation to do so, I would kindly ask for any donations that would go towards Jacks vet bills. Currently he has fleas and a severe case of worms. As far as I know he has had no shots and he needs to be fixed. On top of that, he has given fleas to my rott and my 2 cats (no sign of worms in them yet...) so you can imagine how fast those vet bills and flea meds are going to add up!!! Any help is greatly appreciated although not necessary if you cannot afford to do so but ANYTHING will help. If you do not feel comfortable handing out money then perhaps you have access to pets meds (revolution flea med) or gift certificates? Thanks a ton guys!

Is that for one month or a 6 month supply? If its for 6 months then we are all over it but if thats for one month then thats not good because we can get one month from our vet for $15.

UPDATE:
So Jack is gone now. Unfortunately he was beginning to show some defensive aggression when I would scold him for doing something wrong and also when I was trying to make him learn to lay down when told. I grabbed his collar to show him what I wanted to do and he nipped at me. That was the last straw. I have a five month old who is learning to grab things. I could not take a chance with him nipping at her if she got ahold of him. So I had to do what I didnt want to do which was take him to the pound. So now he is at Clay county animal shelter on SR-16. I hope all goes well for him and he is able to find a good home!
A big thanks to everyone who lent a hand in trying to find him a home!!! :xbeer3:
Oh and 86toyotakyle, If its possible, I could still use that flea stuff. Jack left them on my rotty and on my cats (not to mention in the house!). Is it the same price for an 80lb dog and to 10-15lb cats? Let me know. If it is, grab them for me and we will hook up and I will pay you back. Thanks again man!!!
