New house progress [Archive]

Well some of you already know Stephanie and I still live in my parent’s house. I have been trying to save money and start working on plans of getting out of here. We have a place to start though. My grand mother was looking to get rid of part of her land to a family member and I couldn’t pass it up. I got 10 acres of land about 175 feet wide and 2000 feet deep. I grew up on this land so I was very excited to get it. Well the only progress so far is we have a driveway.

Yeah it is really close to my parents just about 1000 feet down the road and on the other side.

We are building literally half a mile from his parents maybe less. :) We have 10 acres and plan to start building in late spring.

For now the back 5 acres or so is a farm field, the field has to remain for tax reasons. Once we get a barn built I have to have about 3 or more animals such as horses to remain as agricultural in the tax bracket. Trust me I want to keep the land taxed as agricultural because of a big price difference.

I don't even have a barn yet and I already have a customer waiting. And if my brother gets a horse that's three right there. :)

And there will be trails for horses or trucks(not hard ones, though).

Trails? It is flat ground, the woods are still part of the main land and that will go to who ever get's the existing house. :(
