Hey all,
Thanks for lettin' me come out and ride with yall. Bein' my first time doin' it in FL, It was fun and pretty exciting especially with that coper  . Hopefully i'll be able to come out again; by that time I should have beefier tires, lifted my truck, and taking off those running boards. I'd also like to quote the stupid cop: "Your 4Runner MUST be 4-wheel drive, I thought all 4Runners were 4wd." Next time just say you were following the guy with 2wd  just wanna say you guys AND girls are a great group of people and screw that cop tellling me "I think it'd be in your best interest not to come out here with these people again." My big toe nail has more brains than him. Oh yeah, I don't have any good pics but I have some short video's of miscelanous things throughout the trip. PM me if you want a link to em.

Yea, yesterday was a bunch of crap. Typical "I have a gun and a badge" attitude. I would still like to know how he came to the conclusion that it was ok to drive through the first mudhole, but not the second one. Maybe we all need Volunteer Ranger shirts so we can get stuck in the middle of the road, then sit there spinning our tires trying to get out.

well there is a whole story behind this that I dont want to get into...We were not doing anything wrong is what I have to say ..I have talked to Neil and he has talked to Jason from the FL4WDA and yes I could go an fight it an win but the tickets is 55 bucks and what i would lose in having to take off work plus gas to get to the court house in Citrus county and back would cost more that the ticket
Sorry but you really should fight this.I know this is easy for me to say as I'm not in your shoes & sitting on the sideline, but dickhead cheeseball cops like this ****stick need to go bust a crackhead and use thier time more constructively instead of ****ing with good tax paying people(I assume you all are that :D ) The problem is these jackholes will continue to write these useless tickets until someone stands up and says enough is enough. :soapbox:

I agree with fighting the ticket but as with all things money talks.

I also agree with the fighting. I was talking with lesley about it and if that cop really is in the wrong he needs to know. And the only way he will know is by being told so by a judge or other authorites. He will never listen to us because he has the badge and gun so we dont know shit. If anything else, at least noone with get a ticket from that cop at that location anymore. :2cents:

Damn Tim that sucks. I had a ranger cop guy pull that BS with me right after I got the Frontier. I got a warning ticket and told that if he ever seen me out there I'd get a big ticket $$$. He had the same "I have a gun and a badge" attitude and started off by asking me if I'd been drinking, had any drugs, or fire arms. I had my wife and daughter in the truck on Sun afternoon and I turned around where the dirt road ended for some horse trails and spun alittle mud. I really mean alittle mud too, there wasn't any mud on the paint of the truck it was just inside the rear wheel wells/mud flaps. I hate cops in gen. that abuse their power and the "Rangers/WildLife officals" are the main law enforcment officers that abuse their power cause they see the action that a real cop sees. One thing that helps with cops is stickers such as Marine Corps, Fire Dept, and state trooper stickers. One of the first things I hand a cop with I get pulled over is my military ID and hope that he PRO military and not someone that the military didn't want. You're screwed if you get a former Sailor, Army, or Airforce person that had alot of Marine be dicks to them while they were in.

Tim, For the next couple of day listien to Rage Against The Machine and Bob Marley.

Rage - (Take The Power Back)

"Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back"

Bob- (Get up Stand up)

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!

Well, Time to play devil's advocate, there are a few pictures in the most recent posts where the ttora banner is very evident on Tim's truck as he is either stuck or sitting in what appears to me to be a "sensitive" area. It might be a big puddle but to any wacko environmentalist this picture could be taken anyway they want too. I know as good as anyone how thrilling it is to play with the truck in the mud, but stay out of water holes that are evidently not part of the trail or refrain from posting the pictures of such for the world to see.

Sounds like the ticket may have been a far cry in that patricular instance, but if the LEO was smart enough to remember to look here as some of them are. The minutes you step into that court room and he produces those picture to a judge you could look at criminal charges for being in a environmentally sensitive area.

I am not trying to be an ass. I just don't wanna give any more fire power to the people trying to shut down the forest. This is also a good time to remind everyone to be carefull what the pictures contain that they post on the web.

Those pics of Tim in the water were from another run in a different place...The incident with the cop happend on a later run. I do get what you mean though.

All points need to be considered. Just as some special areas have been closed due to over exposure, pictures while they documented our fun, often times, to someone who wasn't around at the time shows us doing damage to an area. I do believe that we need to be choosey about what we post. Florida Jeepers Forum mods remove pics of people in sensative areas. While I'm not about to do that, I hope that everyone who posts pics from now on will use a little common sense about what they post.

We can do mass mailings of the cool pics.

One of the things that we can do to help ourselves out is educate ourselves and others as to what is going on. Form relationships with the Rangers and volunteers so that they know what we are about.
For the record Tim, the spot where you got your ticket looked like part of the road and I would have most likely gotten the same ticket. Although I would have relied more on my wit and charm to get me out of it.
Next time ask the volunteer "What did you see?" then everyone else just leaves. Also tell the officer that you want to give the volunteer a ticket for speeding.
