very little wheeling as this is a super easy trail...think its rated like 3. u can bring family if u like, totally up to u. i'm leaving friday morning, so i'll be there friday through sunday

Oh I don't have a family yet... no offense, but thank gawd! I was just curious what type of camping trip this was going to be. I'll see if I can get a few days off to come down there. I didn't figure on anything hardcore, just was wondering if any "pleasure" wheeling was going to happen... Thanks! :D

i definately do the "pleasure" camping everytime i go. might be a few people going. we invited about 8 and so far 5 r going for sure. the more the merrier. ask spindleshanks about our evening festivites. he may be able to shed some "glow stick" light on the subject. just yell if u wanna go. i'll be rolling out friday morn and can save a spot for ya if i know 4 sure ur going. its 1st come 1st serve out there.

I'm suppose to go to this party that some guy at work is holding on Fri night... I don't get off work till about 8pm. But I have Sat and am thinking about driving down there late and spending all day Fri night and all day Sat with you guys... anything special planned for Sat? for those that may come out on saturday...

take hwy 115 south out of the springs until you get to Florence. Once in Florence, take a left (heading south) onto hwy 67. Follow 67 until it ends. Make a right (heading south) onto hwy 96. This should be in the town of Wetmore. Follow hwy 96 all the way to Westcliff. Once in Westcliff, make a left (south) onto hwy 69. Watch for the sign for this hwy in Westcliff, its kinda hidden. I think there is a liquor store on the corner of 96 and 69. If you need to stop for gas or supplies, do so once you make that left on 69 (shamrock or some kinda gas station) as it is the last one u will see. Head down 69 for about 20 miles. You will pass a huge bison ranch on the right and a make shift airport on the left. You will see a brown sign on the right hand side of the street that says something to the effect of "Sand Dune National Park". Take this right. This is the beginning of a dirt road that leads into the forest. Follow this road what seems like forever. It will get a little rough in areas, but nothing to be concerned with. You will see trails off to the left and right but stay straight all the way. You will notice little brown signs on the trail that have a "#.#" I will be at the campsite that is at 2.2 Be mindful of the water crossings...after all the rain we have had, the creek crossings may be high in some spots. I will be in a silver taco on 35's. There will also be a blue jeep wrangler with me. I get crappy cell service out there but my digits are 719-439-3284. I will try to check my voicemail a couple times on saturday if i can find reception. If you have problems, ask folks in Westcliff how to get to the Medano Pass trail. See ya out there!

haha no worries....nice to see u out there. i had a little mishap after u left. was baha'ing through the dunes and broke a bolt for the rear leaf springs. (off the front hanger) coincidently, a guy that was out there (the guys u followed in friday night) had the exact bolt for a spare. leaf pack out and back in and in return for their kindness, i awarded them with a bottle of jager! note to self.....work on spare part kit

Yeah man, I'm sorry I missed this one sexy.taco. I'll try and make the "Troy" carnage run for sure, but my girlfriend's gone...she's currently in week 4 of basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. It's a shame because she really made a good 4wheeling partner!
Molly was talking about Red Cone the weekend after Carnage, too. I'll be going to that one too.
