Me and the wifey just went down to rocky point for the weekend. I have been down there a bunch of times but it was the wifes first time. if any of you AZ guys haven't made it down there you should. It is about 3 1/2 hours from tucson. The town itself you can definantly tell you are in mexico, just outside the town it is very beautiful and relaxing. I think that we drank 10 too many margaritas, just as intended! I noticed there were tons of wheelin/exploration spots along the way. I think the next time we go down we are gonna do the camping thing. The place we stayed at , Sonoran Spa, was awesome. very clean and every thing was right at the resort. no need to leave at all. very quiet and was very family oriented. Here are a couple of pics.

I've been going down to Rocky Point for over 20 years now! You should have seen in back in '85! Sandy Beach (where you stayed) used to be just beach...all the way around and you could drive your buggy, quad, ATC, whatever right down the beach...now it's full of resorts/spa's - turning into a little Cabo!

I usually make at least 2-3 trips a year down there - going again the end of Sept for 4 days and can't wait!

Yeah I saw a bunch of ATV's and buggies across the street from us out messing around in the dunes. Next time I go down I am taking my dirtbike just to goof around on. we are actually thinking of going back down in a couple of weeks, as soon as the holiday crowd clears out.
