thinking of starting a new truck up
a one ton FJ40 with:
tube body from the windsheild back
bucket seats
D-60's front and rear
44in Iroks
Vortec V-8
atlas2 T-case
coil overs
kinda like this

why not just build a whole frame from scratch? im sure that it would be easier to find as all you would really save from the fj40 would be the front body panels....

I can't believe I'm about to agree with Rich, but ... yeah, just build a tube buggy - it's what you need for the kind of 'wheeling you do anyways!

lol agreeing with me isn't a bad thing sometimes. if there were more components that were staying from the FJ then it would be a different stance but the front frame will be completely different to accomodate different motor mounts as well as suspension. with that all of the components for steering and such will disappear as well. the thing looks awesome ill give you that but for the sake of saving a vehicle that for the most part you wont use maybe consider buying the body panels and such that you want from a junkyard and take it from there. cheaper for you as even if you try to part out the fj you will loose so much time doing that. bend the tube and make the chassis and then just skin it with some fj panels..... but thats just my ::.02::
