I'm just curious how much it would cost to do total chaos long travel for an 01-04 Tacoma. I mean including all of the parts that you need that aren't included in the kit. Everything you need for the entire long travel setup. Has anyone recently completed something like this? If so how much did you spend and what parts did you use?

i can't tell you the parts cause some one else can(i just knew how to put it togheter). but i can tell you that on my brothers truck it was as much as a SAS if not more becase it included some things we couldn't do even with our mechanical backgrounds and had to pay for. Go to there website i think they have price listings.

Kit=$2,500
Coilovers=$1,000
Glass=$350
---------
$3,850 (no tax included)
This is the basic kit no upgraded steering, spindles, paint, or extra $$ for valving. And this is for the front of your truck only. It's not cheap by any means. And yes I've completed this with the kit plus upgrades, Fox coilovers w/ Eibachs and painted glass...

Just remember, once you longtravel the front, you're going to want to longtravel the rear, get full glass, then since nothing seems to work perfect first time around you need to revalve your shocks a few times, possibly change spring rates (front and rear springs), possibly add more weight to the back (spare tires, fuel cell), then when your frame starts falling apart you need to gusset it, add reinforcements, upgrade your engine and tranny mounts, solid mount your cab, then cage everything to keep it from flexing all over the place. Oh and by this time your motor needs to be faster, so you need to get a V8. I'm gonna say at least 20K, lol.

2,500 for the kit.
~1,000 for the coilovers
~350 for glass
Then upgraded steering
Air Bumps
Reinforced Spindles
4,500 for it.
Oh and thats not including labor costs. So do it yourself, its bolt in for a reason :rolleyes:

Dont forget $750 for axles if you want to keep 4wd. My setup would have been about $5200 after taxes. Then expect to pay another $1500-2500+ for a rear end that will keep up with the front.

7k's conservative if not unrealistic. Plan on 10k min, that's doing it all yourself with getting deals on parts, tubing etc. but you'll wonder why you ever wasted a penny on any other type of setup once you drive a LT truck through the dirt. :2cents:

Wow, thats a little bit much. I'm happy with the 2400 I spent.

2400 on what???
i agree that just getting the front end with basic LT, no engine cage etc is only a start, and the rest is what balances out the package.
by the way, where you at in SD?

Ya...4wd adds about another $800 for new axles...
Mine was $3000 for the kit, axles, and glass. Then $80 for new bushings and steering extensions...then $1585 for King 2.5 c/o's with ext resevoir and 500# springs....gotta keep your eyes peeled for the guy that says he's gonna be pulling the LT kit off his truck :xpimp:
