*Sorry, there is a d38 MC race that weekend at the The Dip at superstition. This is the best race terrain in the area and am not missing this one!:D
We'll be hitting up baja soon though...

There is the pete's camp poker run in San Felipe that weekend, if you've never done it I recommend it. i am trying to go but if that does not work out i will be doing a Motorcycle ride in northern baja either Santo tomas to punta cabras
about 35 40 miles of nice coastal baja and maybe further if we want to.
or
Tecate to punta san jose via ojos negros, about 100-130 miles of mountain baja down to the coast

both trips involve camping and hopefully some fishing and surfing:D

We might need chase trucks, and we'll hook up the beer for anyone interested as well as show you around baja a little, of course you are also just welcom to come enjoy the best desert off roading around and even drive some authentic Baja race course:D

I have a CRF450X not as big and fast as the XR650, that I'd like to build it for desert riding/racing and take to Mex.. ;)

it's a great bike i think johhny cambell and robby bell are riding them now even though JC is doing more of the team management. i think he gets on the x every now and then.
heck throw a skidplate on and a stabablizer and come race D37 desert races great fun!

The skid plate and hand guards are already on... :D I just got the radiator guards and the JD Jetting kit that I need to work on...

A new spring and suspension set up and a good stabalizer is next on my long wish list... ;)

As soon as I get some of the above and some practice runs (getting used to the bike) I'll be going for a desert racing... :)

Where and how often do you guys race??

yeah all the little things start adding up quickly. i stilll have my suspension to do yet. during the fall and winter there are anywhere between 2-4 races a month from scambles to dual euros to regular enduros. they're great fun and you'd be suprised how fast you skill level increases once you start doing them.

Thanks for the info... ;) I do go to to CRF's only on and off there is a great group of riders always helping to the newbies like me get started..

I installed the radiator guards (one side only) I got the Unibiker's and they do not fit correctly.... :(

I'm still working on my whish list... :D Before I can even try to get to race..

Yea, once i am ready or close to it I'd like to hook up and give it a try to my first race... :D If not a race, a desert trip to get the hang of it..

cool let me know i am always out riding i have every other weekend free (kids) so when i don't have my kids i am out there. and don't worry about all the little aftermarket stuff. my i've had my xr for 3 years and i just out a stabalizer on about a month ago. it's great to have but not neccessary. don't have rad guards either. you do need handguards, skidplate and sharkfin is a good idea. but all that other stuff is nice but not neccesary. maybe we can hook up with mike and go down to his neck of the woods o-wells great place to ride

I won't be able to make it this time because besides working weekends :mad: I'm still recovering from a bad crash I had 2 weeks ago.. :eek:
