Winter tips

I am getting ready to do the normal maintenance on my truck and wanted to get some tips on anything that you guys usually do to prepare for the winter in Colorado. I want to keep this truck running prime through out the winter.

gas line antifreeze
ice scraper
jumper cables
warm blankets
windshield washer fluid
extra pair of gloves
This is standard extras in my neck of the woods for any vehical.
Some use block heaters and remote engine starters, so your junk is nice and toasty before you leave confines of the indoors. Its nice when its -40c.

thanks 4307 but thats the standard kind of stuff for me anyway except I dont carry blankets most the time.

True but this being my first winter with my truck I wanted to know if anyone does anything different for preparing their truck for cold. Even though it doesn't get -40 its still cold and causes changes.

Run pure washer fluid (no water), check your radiator coolant, and all the other fluids.

Be sure to check your tire pressures - the cold weather will drop them quite a bit, and you'll get crappy gas mileage.

I get a spray bottle of heat(or some chit that melts the ice for the windows, and i also load up the resi w/ it and it works great, a scraper, i have my shovel and hilift. im adding a tow strap tommorrow, and i carry chains when i think i might need to help someone for sure. but other wise i might start carrying a jumper just so i wont have to wait in the cold:flipoff1:
