Alright guys, got a question. I am kicking around the idea of taking my new truck back to the dealership and trading it in for a new FJ. I know I will loose some money, but I could manage that if it wasn't too bad. I just wanted to get some thoughts. At first I would have never considered it, but those things have grown on me and I kinda like them.

You have to live with it, you decide.

Thanks Mike for pointing out the obvious. I was just looking for others opinion on the FJ. I really don't know much about them other than what I read and saw at the Rubicon. I think the real issue will be finding one. There was only 46000 made and only 3200 TRD Edition ones. I guess I could get a used one, but they are selling for the same if not more than new ones.

I'm not a big fan of them. If you can live with how it looks, the depreciation loss on what you have, more new payments, lack of rear visability, etc etc go for it. As for the obvious, I said to take the line on the left.

True that, but I wanted to play with the big boyz and crunch my toy too...
Yeah, I am not too terribly concerned with the depreciation loss on my Taco, but the looks really bother me. I kinda like it, but at the same time I don't. I guess there are certain things that just don't sit right and I can't get over that. I think a lift would help it a ton, but then again lifts help most vehicles. I don't know, maybe if a deal falls in my lap I might consider it.

I love my FJ.
it takes way more abuse than any *stock - so to speak* truck should offroad IMO :)

the only thing i dont like is the lack of visibility, but if i can get used to it, ANYONE can.
i dunno what your looking to learn about it, but if you have questions, ask :)

I say take one for a test drive and see what you think. You know you will be lifting it and such just b/c you have to so that's not a reason not to buy! :D Might be a bit more practical considering you already have a truck, unless of course you use you new truck more for your job and need the cargo space..in which case the FJ might not be big enough inside for what you may need to haul.

Good point..not to mention the easy clean interior floors....almost like you could hose them out if you wanted. I would like that for my dog with all the damn hair that collects in my extra cab...with the FJ I could just vacumm it out!

I think if I could find one that was already lifted and not yellow or blue, I might jump on it. They do look nice with armor, lift, and tires. Its either that or I need to get the 06 lifted with some Hoe's and Alcans, or maybe some 63" chevy's...new bumpers, winch, and sliders. So basically I am back to where I started, dam!

personally, I would prefer an 80 series over the new ones anyday.
