So i made a trip over to sycamore this afternoon, to test my truck before glamis and we found some carnage. This guy with the white ford was drunk at 10 am thismorning when he decided to go up widowmaker. Idiot. After rolling on his side, he apparently got in a fight with his friend who walked off into the desert. I dont think he found his friend. Anyways, he had to leave his truck up there and im sure it will get messed with or set on fire if he doesnt get it out quick. On the other hand, my truck did great with the new chaos on the front up until my shock started spraying oil or nitrogen everywhere. Not sure where the leak is cus everything was covered. Here are some pics.http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h170/polarbb/olympus357.jpg

what a dumn fuck! that is a hard line to take to the top of widow maker! I have only seen tube chassis crawlers and super built Toyota's and Jeeps make that line.

Pinky, Truck looks great! Too bad the wash is smoother than the road, Next time we go out I will show you the nasty lines through the wash!

NATE!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! you take sashquach out with out calling me!

You bastard................

what about Sunday? I will get on Scott to fix his Motor mounts in the ranger.

That's exactly why I would never wheel a full size truck, they just are too big in many situations.

Ah it's ok I'm just giving you a hard time, I didn't get home from the Las Vegas 300 till 3 am sunday anyway.

I pass bikes and quads all the time in my mid travel POS 4x4 and they all look at me like I'm nuts!

I think he could have driven out of it, would have messed up the body, but it is possible. :D
Also looks like he got pisses and just started kicking the windshield or something since there are a bunch of impact marks.

Nitrogen or oil?! Well if it smells like butt and is gooey its oil haha. Sounds like maybe a bad seal, what part of the shock was it leaking from?

TRDtacoma1985
10-18-2006, 11:22 AM
Im pretty sure it was leaking where the resi hose goes into the shock body and i dont know if it was leaking oil or nitrogen. There were some kids out there throwin rocks at the dudes windshield after he left.

Also, the truck was doin great and i was doin about 50 through some of the more aggressive whoops sections. It seemed really really soft, so i think im gonna raise it about 3/4 of an inch. How much do you guys have your coils cranked up and how soft is your ride?

Here is that guys rear wheel. I looked like he bent up his rotor guard and must have snapped his hard lines.

That'd be oil. Did you call up Fox?

Glad to see your enjoying your truck. I'm enjoying mine, little more forgiving. It will be alot more forgiving when I get my rear done. When are you gettin your glass?

Yah, Tweeter's right, that would be where oil would leak from, unless you've fried the floating piston seal in the resi and then the oil and nitrogen may have emulsified. Probably just a loose hose fitting into the shock body though. And if it was riding fine then started to get real soft, there's a slight possibility that you broke a couple shims, which can tear up the inside of the hose and cause it to leak - but that's pretty unlikely. What spring rate are you running?

Lol that place is fun but there are tons of stupid people there all the time. Im suprised no one took the axles. I would have thought about it if i was there. I just laugh at all those BROS out there. Have fun at glamis man and call me and corry when you get back so we can head out and wheel. I want to ride in this thing.

I don't understand how the 4 wheeling community can be so uptight about the environment, but do shit like steal stuff off of other people's trucks?

I like the guy who calls the guy dumb, then says that he'd steal his axles. What a fucking tool bag. "Oh man, that guy is stupid. I'm a thief though."

Is this the Widowmaker in Smelter wash? I just posted up a question in the Az Board about this http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50009

There is a guy at my job that says no one can make that hill. I guess it's out by San Manuel, or south of it along the power line rd.

No its at Sycamore, which is up the 87 just past Bush Hwy on the left. It's not too hard to get up, people just try to do it in 2wd and rip up the hill. It has HUGE ruts from people driving up it, to the point where there are 10' tall walls on the sides of each little trail at the top of the hill.

I went out to Sycamore for the first time today w/ my GF. The wash is pretty fast. Does anyone know where it ends up. I followed it down, then took a trail to the left and ended-up at Fort Mcdowell Adventures.

Go down the main dirt road at the entrance and turn left in the main wash. Can't miss it, it's on the left hand side.

That's the farthest I've been down the wash too. There were a bunch of cows hanging around down there, it surprised the shit out of me when I turned and was face to face with 3 cows. I think if you keep going down the dirt road by the Fort McDowell Adventure place it must exit onto the highway or a street into Fountain Hills. We could see houses pretty close from there.

That Sux!!!!!!!!!!

Great looking truck man!!! i know your using dr's in the rear....how do they keep up with the front. I might go that route in the future (TC front and Dr rear) just until i save enough money for rear susp. Are you sitting higher in the front than in the rear?

TRDtacoma1985
11-12-2006, 10:33 PM
with my current setup im sitting about level. I completely demolished my spare tire carrier out in glamis and with that off, it sits a little higher in the rear(maybe a half inch higher than the front). Im doin my rear pretty soon, so all that will change.

Hey Ronn,
The original Widow Maker at Sycamore Creek isn't anything too tough, just gets a little narrow towards the top with a turn. Few years ago, a steeper line to the left of the original was getting its start. A little hp and you go right up. The big dune hill at DeMello's JT place is harder to get up.

Heading out to Sycamore again on Sunday the 19th at around 9-10am. Would be cool to see some trucks out there from here and meet-up. My Taco is burgandy w/ a custom dent on the tailgate.
