Next Clean-Dezert event. Any suggestions?

Hey guys. we're taking suggestions to plan our next cleanup event. We're thinking possibly in March.

Dale Mining District - 29 Palms

That place is littered with propane tanks and all sorts of garbage. Sadest bit of desert area I've seen yet.

i'm not familiar with that area. where is that?

Its in an area just north of Joshua Tree NP. Lots of mining roads, plently of flat valley roads and tons of campsites littered with shotgun shells, 20lb propane bottles, small propane tank and just about anything that will blow up if you shot it. Really sad.

We saw at least a dozen or so toy haulers out there this last weekend with quads and bikes and stuff. Quiet area, not lots of people (kinda remote).

We cleaned up some along the way, but we weren't prepared for that much junk.

North end of Dale is a good idea, above the park boundary.

South end of Berdoo Canyon is another, from the Joshua Tree National Forest boundary south.

If you could work cooperation with the owner/manager of the land, that'd be good! Then dumpsters and more might be provided.

I think a semi-annual event in Barstow would also be a good plan as well since that place is LOADED with trash throughout the whole course. When I preran the course out there, I saw whole trailers, washing machines, etc. out in the middle of the course. Just an idea I know it's not a "new" area but whatever.

yup...we have pics posted on the website of some of the mess at barstow. it's the reason why adam and i decided to do it first. adam scored us free dumpsters too..which is rad...and that might be able to be a regular thing if we make a good impression on waste management. so yeah..barstow is definitely gonna be a regular place for us.
