I always try to avoid it! I have a nice big rocker panel dent (you've seen it) and a coupld dents here and there around the cab/tailgate but I definately try to avoid any more - my truck is my daily driver and I would want it to stay nice even if it wasn't.

Since my truck is also my DD, I have to wheel with the state of mind that on Monday, I need to drive the same truck to work. That mellows out my propensity to drop the hammer and gun it through an obstacle. I've resigned myself to be cool with knicks and small dents here and there. I would probably have a hard time dealing with a smashed fender or door however...

I try to stay cool about it but it makes me sick to damage the sheetmetal on such an expensive and new truck. That's why I am going to probably sell the Dbl cab to make room for a trail beater, I want to wheel with reckless abandon, is that so wrong?

My truck is my daily driver, and body damage is expensive. Is to be expected however, even if you take it easy, doesn't mean I like it though.

I've replaced a door, and lost a front bumper so far, and a few other little micro dents.

well it's not my daily so I dont really care to much. I don't try to make it happen but I've had my fair share. I think my next move is a flat bed that will eliminate most of it . The bed seams to be the biggest target.

doesnt bother me, if something is in my way like a rock or tree and i need to hit it to make it up a i will. usually the bumpers/sliders will help out but hell my truck is dented to hell and back. ill probably fix up the cab when i do my exo/flatbed though and spray the truck some other color.

Like you, I try to avoid it, but when it does happen I don't freak out about it. It is a risk involved with the sport. My dad always gives me shit about "why would you pay that much for your truck and then go beat the crap out of it?" It's not that I'm trying to... However, me and him also drag race, so I look at it the same as if he blew the motor up in the car...it is all part of the risk we take.

Yea I've got an 03 double cab, and its my DD, and i try to keep it as nice and dent free as possible. however, there have been a couple times when i was wheeling where i would rather get a little body damage then go down the side of a hill or soemthing, and so my tailgate is pretty much done due to this.

I have a few dents here and there but primarily my body damage is metal deep scratches across all the panels....i hate those. But i knwo there will always be more so there is no point to fix them. But it is my daily driver and it has to last through college so i try and keep it relatively clean.

I try not to get it, but if I do, ohh well, and I will say that it is o.k. But then I will probably get home and it will drive me nuts, so I will get it fixed like a retard. So I am hoping to just get the exo on before anything serious happens, but around here the risk of body damage isn't that great...It can happen, but you have to be doing something stupid or just not paying attention at all....

my truck is also my daily driver. I'm going to be starting college next fall so money is going to become a serious issue and I want to make sure I still have a reliable vehicle. I have a pretty nasty dent on my fender from wheeling but I don't do hard enough trails to get serious damage.

My '93 is my DD also like many of you. I have days when I want it spiffy and days when I don't care. I try to avoid the body damage so if I do want spiffy I can get it with a couple of hours of sweat.

The Central Texas guys broke my cherry first time out at Katemcy Rocks.
First time out--first trail--first obstacle= passenger side rocker panel =(150.00).
Tinfoil thick front rock guard--scraped it.
Both rear fenders - bumper dimples--still there.
Permanent scars on right arm match wifes fingernail sig.

Have since added 4" lift - sliders -front skid plate-front APO bumper-reciever hitch-33' tires- rear locker and gloves and mouth gag for the wife.
Also have learned what Murderman meant when he said-slow as you can-fast as you have to.

Now if I could find a body shop that gives a Senior Citizen discount.....

Here is what I do with body damage...

So how much did your mom freak out when you did that? I remember her mentioning how you wanted to do it. :D

As far as body damage goes... My zuk has quite a bit.

Behind both doors is smashed in pretty badly. You can see light through both doors. I also get a nice little draft. :D
The hood is dented on the sides from laying it over.
The front fenders have dents on the side from laying it over.
Both rockers are severly dented and pushed in from rocks.
The rear corners are dented.
The half doors have dents on them.

I think that covers it.

I haven't cared about getting body damage on it in quite a while. I bought and built it with the express purpose of using it as a trail rig and had always figured that I would have it layed on it's side within the first year of having it.

Funny you remember that Mark LOL Well she was gone one day and I just decided to chop it off. She rolled up and was like "Oh that doesn't look that bad" and proceeded to tell me she thought I was going to cut ALL the way around my fender flare up into the bedsides :lmao:

Front diff--hopefully just ring gear but it could be worse.
Don said "follow me" so I tried. I was locked in the rear and not on the front.
I was told the drivers side wheel was pretty high and spinning.....then it made sudden contact when it came back down. From the cab it sounded like a high pitched version of a knife in a garbage disposal. Shoulda been locked on the front I guess--oh and aired down would have helped--and dropped the arms for some more flex. Next time I'll tend to my business first then go nosing into others :o
I would sure like to have pic of it if anyone has one.

I try not to get body damage but it just happens, I need a 12 step program or something. :D I am not quite sure if I have a strait pannel on my truck anymore. Actually I think the hood is pretty straight. Most of my damage comes when I am doing something that is pretty silly and wouldn't normally cause damage, at least thats how my flops have happened. By the way my truck is my DD.
Bottom line is you have to pay to play, so damage is a fact of life for wheeling.
Now I just gotta fugure out how to get my cab straight. I highly suggest a cage for anyone wheeling, I don't have one and I am pretty lucky that my cab is as straight as it is after 2 flops. I'm planning a cage as soon as I get the cab straight.
