Newbie Question: Suspension Ratio

Hey all,

Sorry for the stupid question, but I have been lurking and learning here getting ready for my build up. I often see people talk about the travel ratio?

Could anyone explain this? :confused: :o

Great site, I plan to start my build in Mar 2007, so lots of time to learn.

Refers to the amount of wheel travel compared to the shock stroke.

i.e. 8" of wheel travel on a 4" shock stroke the suspension ratio would be 2:1.
