I'm in Deerfield Beach (1 min. south of Boca Raton)...So far just been out to Corbett...Used to live in Naples, FL and met a guy from another forum that wheels out there...So whenever I have time get over there I want to hit up that area...Would love to make it out to Tampa too...Figure each month I'll hit up a different part of Florida to wheel!!

Whoever gets there first, DONT set up in front of the bathrooms like we did on last campout. Last time was great because no one was there but this time will suck because the place is going to be plugged!!! Try to get right across the street from there. That is where we were last year and it was a great spot! I dont know exactly when I am coming down yet, it should be friday and I hope earlier than later...

I'm borrowing my moms lol... My sister is in girl scouts, they have a tent that sleeps like 12 kids haha... two huge airmattresses and plenty of room to spare for "stuff"

Just so I dont look stupid, some questions. How big is the campsite, it says room for two trucks, is that two trucks/two tents or is one campsite big enough for a truck and a tent.... (no sharing of campsites, is what I'm asking)

Will there be one fire or can I make my own ?
On the info page, they were saying food would be provided, but it also says something about bringing food... I'm a MEAN cook, I cook all kinds of shit, heck I'd feed you all if it wouldnt kill my pocket. But if food is completely on our own shoulders, I might bring my smoker out lol... I make a mean lasagna, chicken parm, ziti, ribs, chicken, and some killer carne asada with pico de gallo

Ughh, I LOVE food haha....

Anything else I should know so I dont look stupid when I get out there ?

And as for firewood, I've got plenty of dried pine logs at my parents house that I could split this weekend and dry them further so I'll be okay on my own fire....

And the most important question of all... BEER, can we bring alcahol ? Obviously not drinking and wheeling, this is for hangin around the campfire :D

The food will be provided on Saturday night and bring a dish to pass if you can. FL4WDA plans on feeding 300 people. Ocala Jeep club usually provides the cooker and meat, everybody else brings a dish to pass. Plan on feeding yourself for the rest of the time. If you want to bring a smoker we can plan on a club meal Friday if you are going to be there. Evening meals are about the only time other than breakfast that the whole club will be around. Some sort of Trail lunch for the rides.

Yes to the beer....I always need someone to mooch off of.

Campsites as read. 2 people per site. Basically if you show up with someone tell the front desk you are sharing a tent and you will get to split the site fee. $16.00 per site per night. Split that.

To everyone: This is not a FLTTORA event, this is a FL4wda event so.....That means that you are responsible for deciding what you are going to do. I will probably hang for a while and check out the happenings and then disappear showing up later just in time to eat and win some raffle stuff. When ever we all get together I always feel very responsible for everyones fun. I want everyone to know that this weekend/ meeting is much more than just wheeling for me. It's meeting people that you only see once a year, Its checking out everybody elses rigs, Its hearing and listening to what is going on politically and deciding that you are going to get involved. Its a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

Campsites are huge. Look at the sat. photo's a few posts above.

Pretty sure as long as there is a pit (dig one) you can have your own... but the fun is in sitting around a big fire shooting the shit and drinkin beer until 4am.

I bring my own food, just in case if I am not around when the "provided" food is served. If you have a specialty, bring it, how I understand it the big cookout is a potluck type deal.

Bring firewood, the bigger and hotter the fire the better.

And yes, bring beer.

Eureka pit and the mud field was good, I would like to see something different this time around... I was wondering if it going to be like what you, Bosco and I did back when we did the scouting trip...

I do hope there will be some good wheeling to be had. It looks like a lot of trails are closed now, realistically that all can be found out Friday night.

I felt like an ass last year because I didn't get there until Saturday afternoon and ran off with a group and missed the dinner etc (but I had a blast!).

I would like to do the dinner-raffle thing, but my main goal is to wheel. It would be nice to see organized rides not only on Saturday but on Sunday too.

I'll put it out there that I don't get out much since the wife and I had our baby. Things are hectic and I have pushed things aside so that I can make this trip. If my expectations are unrealistic, let me know asap that way I can make an informed decision.

I am down for what ever...I understand that this in not neils responsiblity to have something "scheduled". I also understand that you (neil) do not want to hold anyones hand and that is cool. I personally want to wheel as much as possible and I hope there are some people that will join in....even if they drive a jeep. :D

This seems a great event to not only wheel but to gain much knowledge from other people who share this passion....Hell....A good excuse to get wasted also!!! :p

You guys will all get to wheel to your hearts content. Its just gonna be a plan as we go thing so dont expect runs to be planned/orchestrated before hand. If someone says, "hey lets go to (insert wheeling spot)" then we will most likely all say "cool" and then we go. Like neil said, this is an opportunity to meet and see people you only see once a year and to also get in on the know of the poitical side of things and above all get together and share our passion! If it turns out only a couple guys want to go out at a certain time then so be it. Dont feel obligated to be involved with whatever is going on if its not in your interest. We will all be there but you will also be on your own as to what you feel you want to do when. You will not be under the FLTTORA umbrella of events/happenings like the last campout. So with all that said, this is a wheeling/campout so yes you will wheel...See you guys next weekend!

Neil pretty much summed it up. When you get there, you will have a better understanding......

THe FL4WDA does not plan any trail rides, all the trail rides are spontaneous, spur of the moment things, go where you want (thats legal). There are also some challenges tossed around. There is a planned cleanup at Rodman after the meeting but thats it as far as planned outings.

THe meat for dinner will be provided Saturday night, bring a covered dish or desert to share. Raffle afterwards.

Fires are allowed but if it gets windy, watch your fire closely (I speak from experience).

Alcohol is allowed.

Its time to have some fun.

That works for me but, I do have to inform you that my 2.7 tops out at 70mph with the 33's.
The last time I make this trip I took the Turnpike to Ft. Pierce, jumped onto I-95 North to hwy 40 (just North of Daytona). Took 40 West to 19 and the rest is in the Lowrance. Last time Paul and I took 19 to NF-77, won't do that again, this time I'm making my to NE 160th Ave. Rd. off of 316 near Eureka Dam.

That's cool...I usually set the cruise between 70 and 75 mph...Found that that gives me the fastest speed and very, very, good gas....Can get 280 miles to the tank like that...Normally get like 220 miles to the tank..

And what would you rate the trails average at I am running 35's a locker and a winch and prefer not to get sheetmetal damage if possible. I know wha wha....

The trails in ONF are very easy and with 35s, locker and a winch you're not going to have a problem with anything ONF has. If I had to rate ONF trails I'd stay they range from 0 to 2.

I know where an axle is for $125 if that is alot cheaper than what you were going to pay. It's a 79-83 axle not sure what year exactly though.

Just got home. Had a great time, nice to meet you all. Wish I would've won the winch though.... The drive wasnt bad at all. Ran about 65 both ways, made a couple stops each way cause I was in no hurry.... Got to test out my new combo, it did AWESOME.... The locker helped dramatically over a couple of the little obstacles... Dom's FJ did superb as well... Almost rolled it down a hill, sure was fun. :cool:
