From what I have looked at Walkers are the only wheels that Donahoe and a multitude of race teams run on their Toyotas. :)

That is an awesome truck that your shop has built..is that rear bumper available for purchase? Would it support the weight of the truck when using a high lift jack and how strong is the reciever? Thanks...

Looks just like a single tube modified to fit a tow hitch and most likely welded to modified brackets which bolt to the frame. Just a guess. :)

well mine cost 6000 from camburg so I am guessing that setup with the bypasses and rear bumper is approx 7500. Lets see how close I am.

Are they cheating (spacers) in the rear or is it just the offset on the wheels that fills the glass in the rear?

It's probably the 4.5" backspacing the Walker Evans come with. Mine stick out beyond the stock rear fender.

are you planning on doing anything more with the rear end of the truck. it seems to me that with all the money that is invested in the front end, that you would want to do more with the rear. im not saying that there is anything wrong with donahoes, it just seems that the owner would want something that could keep up with the front suspension.

The customer was origianlly going to go with a carbon copy of marco's truck, but built in stages due to the fact that he needs to use his truck. He's in good shape right now with the donahoes, deavers, and the chubby bump stops in the rear. You never know, a bed cage may be in the near future.

Ok so I have a couple questions regarding this kit/truck, as I am considering LT.
1. How were the bumper caps installed without using a bolts or rivets?
2. Does this truck have the body mount mod to clear the 35's. I am assuming it does, since its required at full lock, but we know what happens when you assume...
3. Fox, seems to be the choice of EVERY LT Taco I have seen. Why is that?
4. I use my bed a ton, I dont want to hack into the bed to get usable travel and function out of the rear end. How do I get around that, or can I?
5. Random question, does anyone under coat the back of the fenders to keep from "starring" from rocks in the fender?
This will be my first LT truck if I can get my finances in order. This is a daily driven truck so I am very apprehensive.
Help me out!!!

1. glue
2. 35s without a lift spindle = yes
3. dunno, i love my kangs and they are more local to me than fox so if i have a problem i can drive over there instead of shipping.
4. richer has a bolt in bedcage that doesnt take a lot of room and dmz is very well known for keeping a TON of bedspace.
5. im planning on it on my bedsides.
most of the guys who have built up 05+ are also used as their DD vehicles. these TC/Camburg kits are very DD-able... i love the ride.

Brock was right on with alot of his responses....
Idk why alot of people went with foxes.......but as far as i know TC based their kit around foxes so there isnt any trouble mounting the resi/shock......i know a few on this site like (06Haole) who have Kings, had trouble mounting the resi and hose.......it was hitting the UCA when cycling the susp.....it was so bad he had to buy a secondary shock hoop to mount the resi on it...Brock has Kings and his fit pretty well  just depends i guess .......i would say go with Kings just to be different, it might take a little work to place the resi/hose....but whatevr
The WE's are heavy as fuck, might as well get the "real" beadlocks because they weigh the same as the fake ones.
What do you mean by undercoating for the bedsides?.... i know when i paint my bedsides im gonna buy some 3M "clearbra" and stick it on the bedsides closest to the cab and next to the gas door......rocks from the fr tires pelt that whole area on the bedside.
Youll have NO power with stock gearing and 35's.......I regret going up to 35's (given the fact it gives you more ground clearance and fills the fenders in)....i regeared to 4:56.... and assumed that i would regain stock mpg....nop my mpg is at 15mpg because the tires are so heavy, but you do get power back......if you dont have lift spindles you have to modify your bodymounts to fit the 35's.......
So basically im down hundreds of dollars because i went up to 35's and my mpg got worse. LOL
stick with 33's and save up for lift spindles.....you wont have to regear, you wont lose mpg, and youll gain tons of ground clearance.

ya i dont know what the whole hose hitting the upper arm deal is. im running huge 600lbs springs and its angled enough to where it doesnt hot, but whateva. i say rock whichever shocks u want, lol... don't really see one being better than the other.
undercoating the bedsides as in pretty much spraying bedliner on the insides of the bedsides so rocks dont just up and spiderweb the paint from the inside.
Ive heard Kings are easy to work with, specially when doing a rebuild all the parts are easy to find. Once i do my rear im going with Kings. Fox up front , King in the rear. Maybe even those Gold plated kings that brock wanted, for that extra bling factor..............ya, the day i start shitting $100 bills.

12-02-2008, 06:20 AM
The resi issue had to do with the 90 degree fitting that my Kings came with. I could have switched it out to a different fitting but I was In Rhode Island when I did the install 2000+ miles away from any place to get them recharged once I switched the fittings. That was the biggest pain in the ass but at least I added on the secondary shock hoop:D Now I just need some bypasses to bolt in there.

Thanks for all the info!
I was worried about the 35's and you pretty much summed up what I was assuming.
As far as lift spindles, no can do. 4x4. So that add's another $$$ factor to the equation. Because I know under all that movement those CV boots do not last long.
The truck is only 3 months old, and to give you an Idea of how much I drive, she just clicked over 6K miles. So I think at this moment, I am going to go for a replacement C/O for now. I am sure my mind will change like 18 times till that happens.
Then maybe I can pick up a DD.

Help me out!!!
bumper caps are welded in, i get mine from SDHQ also.
the taco i did we just sprayed rattle can undercaoting underneath, and only have 1 star after about 10k miles

How do you weld in Fiberglass?
Also, for you 4x4 LT guys. How long do the CV's last.
Does Re-Gearing make a big difference?

My CVs are at 8000 miles since the install. Thte cross country trip from Rhode Island to Texas had me checking the CVs at every at gas station. No issues at all.

Don't say that. :(
Now I gotta go LT... Lol.
Anyone from OC or LA Country that will paint my fenders with the proper Toyota Paint, I don't want some janky paint job on my Glass...

Go to Pep Boys and buy a roll on bedliner kit and put it on the underside of the fenders that will help with the star cracks from rocks.

You are thinking tube ends.
The glassworks ones we did in phase one of the build were done by our body shop he bonded them in with marglass.

Everyone has their own preference, the big thing is making sure the shock is setup and valved correctly for the application.

u guys at sdhq have any pics of the airbumps installed on the frontends of the 05s?

hey dude speaking of bumps, looks like those chubs will work after all. I plan on changing to a domed foot and welding a strikepad on, but why didn't you run them? I notice you can't run a secondary shock with them, is that why? I'm hoping that with the Icon LT coilovers I won't have to run a second shock, but we'll see. Should be done late Sunday with the install if the Icons show up on Sat.

didnt want to bother welding on a strike pad.. i think if i run some 2.0 bumps i can bump it off the tubing that the stoke bump bumps off of. if that makes sense.

Sick truck!
If you guys need another project truck, I have the perfect one for you. :p
I see this truck all the time(twice) in Vegas. Both times at motorcycle shops, Carter and tonight I saw it at Cycle gear.
The truck looks clean.....too clean.

Does that truck have the stock rear Axle? How do you think it will hold up to 35's and a supercharger. (Asking because that is what I plan on doing)

So, SDHQ. . . . On Marco's white truck, why did you build your own upper arm? Also, is that your SUA kit in the rear, or is it Richer's?

There were some geometry issues with the arm that came with the kit, the SUA kit we built and designed.

We made them here in house, dzus tabs and alum sheet and a lot time making them perfect.

They work with the 108mm bore because the wheel is lug centric not hub centric. No adapter needed.
