I am redoing the bumper, so for the time being i cut half of it off. it actually looks pretty good like that and its still just as strong as before.

no, a long time ago the cab started to collapse, where its at now is the highest its ever going to be. what happens is the back seam splits then it carrys and the whole cab top will fall on itsself.. The cage is actually sold mounting everything and keeping the cab from moving anymore.. But the frame is 100% normal still.

There is an article in Sport Truck Mag. this month (Paint and Body issue) and they painted the fiberglass fenders on a black one and then airbrushed flames on it. Came out really clean looking.

Nice truck though, looks great.

thanks, however I will never ever put flames on a truck, i think they just look gay. besides im not about the looks, im about performance, and flames do nothing for performance.

flames do nothing for performance.

Flames have been proven to automatically give any vehicle 100RWHP

I agree... but before they did the flames, the matching fenders looked pretty good... had all the steps to prep them and all.

Looks good man, you take it in the dirt (other than your 25 mile long driveway, heh) with the cage yet? I decided to keep my Tacoma and pay it off and keep it around as a toy instead of getting the Audi, that'll wait.

Considering getting a half cage built like this one in Josh's truck.

Haven't talked to you in awhile, you end up going with Tundra axles? What parts exactly did you need, what parts are interchangeable, etc?

Pics, keep em coming.

Ya i moved to Aliso Viejo, got out of murrieta, I liked it there but there was no money in what i do down there.. SO now im up here. On teh axles I got tundra axles and did the modifications myself, only needed a boot and some tools.. wasnt too hard. havent been to the desert in about 3 months now, and im itching to get out...

And we have to have the stock belts to be street legal dood. why dont you not bash something you dont understand? Have you ever priced a cage before, it isnt cheap to do.

Corey, what size tubing did you use for the cab cage? Also, was it 4130?

In your opinion, if I were to cage a yota p/u, would it be better money wise to pick up some DOM from, let's say CalTime or Schorr, and then have a shop weld it together? Or just have them fab and supply everything at once?

I know how you were saying that caging the cab was PITA, but I have no welding skills and I am definetly not going to be risking poor craftminship when it comes to the safety of me and my passenger.

Depends on the price the shop gives you on steel, I would say call up a few shops and get a quote on a cage. Tell them what metal you would like to use..
You can use 120 wall on teh main structure then 90 wall on all support tubes.. to save weight.. Just make sure its NOT mild steel! WHile mild steel works fine i wouldent trust it in a roll over. Especially one at speed.

Yeah , I hear you on the Mild Steel. I think it would be a waste to save costs that way and in the end it could jeopardize your safety.

Thanks, Corey! Your truck is looking better and better everytime you posts updates. Hopefully, we'll see some action shots of it soon out in the Dez! :)

BTW, if you and Jason are going into the custom caging business for a decent price let me know hahahahah :welder:

This is Josh with the white tacoma in response to questions regarding my truck. The cage is still on a 3/4 cab cage out of 1 1/2 DOM tubing, and paying a decent shop to do it isn't cheap I do most if not all fabrication on my truck myself, but when the time came to do the cage for the price I got from www.SuspendIndustries.Com I couldn't refuse because of being in school and working long hours was well worth paying them to do it. The rear section of the truck has been completed and fully caged updates are coming very soon on finishing the cage along with a carbon fiber dash, Gps, Art Cartt Shifter, gauges, Momo wheel, and so on these projects never will end if any one could or show me how I'll post some newer pics. thanks, Josh

Albertos Rocks LOL, i was down there lastnight (sunday) working on a motor home, anyway yea its getting there, took it out today for a test run, got up to 70mph and it felt solid.. the biggest problem i have right now is getting used to how the frame/cab no longer flexes, so the suspension is alot touchier. Also I got the belts in, ran them out to temecula, then around town.. Its actualy faster for me to belt up in 5pts than in a regular belt, thats pretty sad... I did run the stock belt on teh way home... I like having the option, but I definatly felt safer with teh 5pts on.
