Bullshit. After 6 months, anyone can talk shit. Furthermore, after 6 months, it's "doubtful" anyone will ever get one.

Marketing scam? Slimy and stupid.....and please don't slam us, we had a purpose to delay the sending to a trickle......

We have seen tremendous growth over the past 2 years and I saw the stickers as a good thing to do for both people that wanted stickers and people that want to see what we have to offer......It was too good of a plan. We were inundated with orders and we couldn't keep up with the demand. The stickers brought too many people to our site and they liked our products and prices to the point that we couldn't keep up with orders.

So we stopped sending out stickers except with orders until we were able to triple our inventory levels. We have now brought our inventory levels to a point we felt safe to begin sending out the stickers again. That was 2 weeks ago. Overall, we have sent out over 10,000 free stickers and another 6,000 with orders. We are sending out 200 a day and should be done within 3 weeks.

We don't advertise on TTORA only, we advertise on 19 sites and the response was just too high and the service would have suffered much more than it did. The stickers are sent out in a completely random fashion and you could have registered last week and gotten them before someone that registered last year.

So, all I can say is that we did this for a good reason and if you believe it was a scam just look back around Christmas when we gave substantial items away 2 months in a row or go to the TTORA events where we regularly give for the raffles, or any event for that matter. Marketing scam? Do some research.......We pride ourselves on our CS and simply didn't want to grow at an out of control pace. I'm sorry for the delay.

A date specifing when we would begin sending stickers again, that was something I couldn't do. I would have preferred to have said nothing and someone that had gotten them recently just spoken up. BTW, thanks to all for the support, I regularlly speak to many of your members and I thank them for standing up for me in my stead.

I'm guessing you get good postage rates ?

If I get one or not... I won't cry...
If I need one bad enough... I'll buy something :p

Gravel Maker
07-03-2007, 12:11 AM
To get a good rate you need to presort them by zip code and mail over 1000 at a time. I like to manage the rate of sending them so as to not slam us with the kind of order flow we originally got from these. many business owners are cringing when I say something like this but controlled growth is great, out of control growth is just that, out of control.....

Why are you vaginas crying about not getting your free shit in a timely manner?

This is not directed entirely at you, but everyone in this thread who thinks that RS is trying something shady. I have met him, used his products, and would recommend his stuff to anyone who wants some nice, quality, burly shit to weld on to their truck.

Who fawking cares about a sticker you bunch of posers! A damn sticker doesn't help your shit get farther up the trail.

i guess it did help your business out.

Valkyrie
07-03-2007, 06:17 AM
I understand what you are saying Mike, and I can agree to an extent.

However, this just wasn't simply about getting "a sticker".

6 months ago a new sponsor pops up asking people to "register" on his website. In exchange for "registration" (including submission of an email address), you get a little decal and presumably a letter of introduction, some marketing material, whatever.

6 months goes by, lots of people hadn't heard anything, and he hasn't addressed the thread. So what are people supposed to think? It's great that you know him, and it's great that you like him and his stuff, but remember that to the rest of his, he was just "some guy" who collected email addresses from people that were genuinely curious about his business.

So, while it may be convenient for some to dismiss this as simply butthurt sticker collectors whining over a freebie they didn't get, it actually was a little more involved than that.

He may be the nicest guy in the world and the greatest fabricator in the world, but many people experienced an unfavorable first impression.

Nonetheless, I wish him well.

Hey Chris, I dig what you are saying. I just get bent when people start jumping on the bandwagon and implying that Dan is doing something shady or trying to pull some scam just because they didn't get their damn FREE sticker yet!

Like other's have said, if your life is so incomplete without that sticker on your truck, you can probably get one faster by buying something from Dan!

The issue was with the 2,000-2,500 that did buy something, we average 80-90 orders a day, double or triple it and you get a huge inventory problem. We don't make things as we go, we like to have it in stock before you order.....

Thanks for your burly products! ...and for the sticker!
