The hardest trail you have ever run?
For me I would have to still say Axle Alley. There are a few that I had more problems with, But that was before the SAS.

Big Bear's John Bull is the most difficult trail I've done. From what I hear there's worse up there.

The completely exposed bedrock surrounding Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Similar to Moab as far as rockiness and types of trails. Depending on the lines you chose, it could either be a carnage fest, or a liesurely wheel.

Dusy/Ershim for me.
The Rubicon has tougher big obstacles, however (I rode shotgun on that one) but Dusy just wears you out ;)

The end of Dusy beats Rubicon's views, hands down but I had a great time on that trail. I'm still not sure I want to take my truck on it next year or not.

Probably the Con for me, just because I had no crawler or a front locker at the time LOL We'll just say my clutch leg got a GOOOOD workout that trip. Really a nice way to test your skill-a-bility! We have a local rock pile full of some good size rocks, before with the open front and no crawler I smashed my way up. After the front locker and crawler it was soooo much easier! (Who'da thought??) My buddy was complaining how his foot hurt going up that rock pile, I don't think he would make it through the Con LOL

Terminator-before the SAS. Since SAS haven't been on too many trails yet.

Rusty Nail trail in Moab was the hardest for me. With a front locker and more body armor, it wouldn't be as bad.

The most difficult trail that I've done is actually the mini-Rubicon at Hollister. I actually found that to be much tougher than the real Rubicon. Although I was denied running the Little Sluice backwards (forwards would have been even harder). I finally had to give up on the sluice after busting 2 front axles.
Even so the Rubicon was pretty much just a walk in the park. There are really only a few spots that are really difficult. Going down the Old Sluice is just plain fun. Going up it would be a bitch though.

Guardrail, (bypassed helicopter pad), and schoolbus at Tellico last summer. Me and the other ifs guy (Stomper) had to follow the Trailcarnage UROC buggy. One broken cv and some minor body damage for me, but no winching so I was happy :D
Oh, yeah, guardrail owes my a new skid plate (bastard)

I-95 from NYC to Boston. That road is nasty. You have to watch every move, if not you could end up with some serious sheet metal damage. I've seen a lot of carnage on this stretch of road.

Rattler, Rattler II, Drumstick (all at Paragon)
Hell......it don't take a 'hard trail' to git your gusto.
At Rausch Creek, Trail #1 (easy trail). There's an obstacle they call winch hill.
Been up it many times before. This past time....endoed it (my jeep) Ooops....didn't plan on that happen'

Downtown Boston. There wasn't even one ounce of enjoyment to that trip and I swear I'll never do it again. Not even shotgun.

Ya it was tough even with a crawler. But I was open diff in the front so since you have a locker that will help alot. The other thing that made it hard was the lack of cleacance that the ifs trucks on 33" have while running no drop bracket ifs lift. You can get hung on the frame alot. Actually most of axle alley ok, it was just the 3 water falls that gave me problems. You can do it! :D I think the front locker will help out alot too. ;)
I don't think you'll be able to drive the "big" waterfall though simply due to lack of frame clearance. But it's no problem to winch up it. All of us did that night. :o

Well I would have to say the hardest for me is the road that goes behind my work and is gravel with lots of pot holes.
BTW: I'm lowered so yeah that's about all I can do for offroading.:lmao:

<off topic> If you are staying IFS and need a skid plate combo, talk to me! I am getting rid of all my IFS and have the skids left. They are not in the greatest shape but still very usuable.

I've gotten pretty good at "reshaping" and remounting them. They come off pretty frequently :D I appreciate it, but I'm not really trying to invest any more money in my ifs since it's falling apart as it is.

I would have to say Dusy Ershim, Axle Alley, Rubicon, and Pritchett Canyon in that order. Dusy because it's a 33 mile short wheelbase trail!

I would say Axle alley... then behind the rocks in Moab, Then Rubicon. I agree with DAn... most difficult trails are really dependant upont your setup and driving skills.

Rode shotgun on the Dusy Ershim. Running the winch cable was a lot of work. The hardest for me was Strawberry Lake near Shaver, and a no name trail while hunting out of Red Bluff. There was a creek crossing that almost screwed me. :D

I have been toying around trying to get the pics back on my camera so I can transfer them to another computer. Just waiting for my friend to come over and show me how to do it. I have tried several times and can't figure it out.

gaurd rail was a cake walk for me since the swap has been done, lower 2 at 3am in pouring down rain kinda sucked though, theres still a few trails at greyrock that i have to use the cable (poison rock namely) well if i take the hard line, the old bents and dents that you cant run anymore, well not suppost to :D since its on someone elses property or something. i dont think i have a toughest trail as of now

I can tranfer them to a floppy and put them on my other computer and then to a disk. It will be a little time consuming, but should work. I will work on that tonight.
My 81 is just sitting. I am collecting parts for it right now. I need to get down to marlins shop to pick up a bunch of stuff. I should be getting a tube bender in the mail this week. Then I will be making bumpers for my tacoma, and a bunch of stuff on the 81. I plan to have it done by the time the snow melts off in spring. Hoping for sooner to get a snow run or two in though.

I noticed in the last In Gear issue that the Fresno clubs that open Dusy and the other trails up there might need some help ;) If I have any time off the weekends they head up there in June I might give it a try.
