What are the advantages of a 4x4 that a 4x2 can't do?
I'm starting to regret that I should have got a 4x4 now.

I own a 4x2 also, but it definitely gets the job done, unless you're driving up muddy or loose gravel hills I've never had a problem, even in snow.

It's all about traction. I can take you some places a 4x2 can't go. But if you don't realy go there, you will never notice. 4x2 can get you 80% of the places, exspecialy with the rear locker. But it's that 20% that will leave ya stuck, wishing you had the 4x4.

Yea I have the rear locker but I don't know how and when to use it. Maybe because I haven't taken it off-roading yet.

You have a 2.7 . It is unlikely that you have a locker.

I 4x4x4 that quote. 25 years experience in getting stuck with 4x4 Rams and Broncos in muck and sand and holes. 2x2 you tend to know what you can do and not do.

The mini you turned into a prerunner thing is kinda cool. The lowrider thing might be useful for an RTI ramp. :D

I second this. I have a body dropped mini and a Tacoma with 33's. Granted I don't wheel hard but I am an avid offroad enthusiast. The mini gets amazing gas mileage and rides smooth as a whistle (bagged with Rx-7 independant rear end). Just fun to cruise while the weather is nice. When winter roles around or for trail rides, I use the Tacoma. Just balancing two vehicles that have equal functionality in their own respect.

Einstein once said "Intelligence is like four wheel drive, it just allows you to get stuck in even more remote places."
As for the low-riders, I just don't understand the allure. More power to you if that's your thing, though.

Nobody said you couldn't have an opinion, just keep the gay lowrider stuff on another board like customtacos. Newbs see that crap and think this is another forum to whore around in asking about wings and fart cans.

Well, the mini just went into the shop for paint. Got a smoothie tailgate skin welded on as well as a fully shaved front bumper. Also removed the stock taillamps in favor of some Tacomas, we cut Tacoma bezels out of a wrecked bed and are currently molding them into my bed. The body man doing my work is incredible, he did all the body mods on Charles Armstrongs truck (bodydropped mini that has made the cover of mini Truckin). Once he's done, I will get some pics. I can send you pics of my Tacoma if you give me an e-mail addy. Thanks

Relax guy, I was just illustrating the versatillity of the mini. And FYI, it's pretty obvious that other folks on the board have other interests other than wheelin, so don't knock something till you try it.
No wings or fart cans here man, just straight up fabrication.

sweet front bumper replacement. I just bought my first taco and am looking for something similar. Do you know where I could find one? I am in the DFW area.

Will a 4x2 with the rear locker be good enough for snow? I don't mean hauling through it but keeping traction on a snow/iced covered road?

The locker will tend to make the back end kick out easier on slick stuff, so I am not sure how helpful it would be.

The locker will be useful only to get you un-stuck. On ice, you should keep it off untill your forward motion stops and then turn it on only until you get moving again. :2cents:
I feel dumber after reading this thread. :xcrazy:
