Howdy,
I have been lurking around for a couple of weeks and am amazed by all your knowledge. I am a newbie on all this truck stuff and need some help on deciding on a few aftermarket parts. I want to add Bushwacker OE Style fender flares, black wheels, and new tires if needed. I have little understanding of what will and won't work.

From what i have read this is stock specs. 15 in. x 7 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4 in. Backspace. I would like to go with 16in. x 8in. wheel just so they would be a little bigger than stock but not stick out past the flares to much. Would this be ok or should i stick with the stock wheel specs. since i won't be offroading much?

I will eventually add a 3in. lift but for now i would like to fit the biggest tires posible without rubbing. I don't offroad much so the tires don't need to be to aggresive.

Please give me you suggestions on what to or not to do.

My trucks specs:
Silver 96 Tacoma 4x4 SE with stock everything.

Wheels:
Cragar Black Soft 8 Wheels
http://store.summitracing.com/eproduct.asp?N=120+4294923107+4294923106+306459
Which ones would be best?

http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/toyblackalloys.htm
These are kinda pricey.

Fender Flares:

Thank you for your help,
Zack

31s are the tallest you can go w/o a lift.
what engine,tranny do you have?
16" tires cost quite a bit more than 15s so take that into consideration.

i would definately go with the wheelers rims, and as said above the move from 15's to 16's can be pricey, plus you will need to buy a different tire if you go with the 16's. i would just wait and get the whole package(lift, rims, and tires) if not go with 15's. Will definately look good with the wheelers rims.

Hey, I know this is slightly off from what you want to do with your truck but as far as some cheap but effective performance upgrades I'd recommend the:

Deckplate Mod
ISR/Airaid MIT mod
New weld on high flow muffler mod

I did all of this for around $250 and man was it worth it. (The first two mods are modifying the intake system to be less restrictive and therefore have better airflow into your throttle body giving you an increase in HP's and throttle response. The high fow muffler will do the same but just on the exhaust side obviously.)

Which 15" can I fit on a 02 Taco. Mostly everyone I have talked to at 4Wheel Parts tells me that 16's will not clear the Brake Caliper. And they said that if they do fit, when new pads are put in then it will hit and that they had one customer with that problem.

Wheelers has both steel and alloy 15s that fit the gen 3 tacos like yours. those are about the only ones out there that can be guaranteed to work.
