Anyone have an Xbox they want modded??

I have done several dozen over the last few years, and just thought some of you folks might be interested in getting yours modded also.

I use a relatively 'cheap' chip; not the BEST, but gets the job done. I can install a switch to turn it off; or just have the modchip enabled all the time.

Most mods are NOT Xbox LIVE friendly, so if you pay to play, you should probably not mod your box. M$ is getting very clever at seeing modded boxes online, and will BAN your serial# from their servers if you are found out...

Once modded, your Xbox will be able to play ALL REGION DVD's (without the dvd dongle crap), MP3's, most any video or music files, etc. There is an FTP server built in, so you can xfer files to and from your home network. You will be able to play 'backup' games, and much, much more. I usually put MAME (an oldschool arcade emulator; awesome!) on it also when complete....

You SHOULD also upgrade the hard drive at the same time, this will allow you to 'backup' your games onto the hard drive itself, therby allowing you to play the games without the disk! Can you say 'Hello Blockbuster??'

My current box has a 250gb hard disk in it, with about 2000 mame games and about 20 xbox games on it, and I still have over 150gb free space for who knows what.

Cost is $90, which will include the chip and all installation costs (chip is :welder: soldered onto motherboard...no pogo pin crap), harddisk upgrade is no charge when modding. You can purchase the new hard drive, or I can get one for you at about $.75/gb. (about $90 for a 120gb)...personally, I would prefer you get the drive. Maxtor tends to be a little better then WD, but Seagate is the top of the line as far as warranty goes.

If you have any questions....PM me or post here, I will be glad to help out if possible.

I live in NorCal...if you are local, I will gladly loan you my personal box while yours is getting modded. I like to take my time with them, and get a little 'burn in' time once complete to make sure all is working properly. If you are not local, you can ship it to me, and I will ship it back; as long as you cover the costs of both. Turn around time is less then a week in my house (shipping who knows...)

I think there are some people here who can confirm I will NOT rip you off...if you are at all worried about that.

If you are NOT interested...then :flipoff2:

Also, if any of you guys get dirty disk errors, replace the cd drive. The Thompson POS that came in them are known for those bs accusations.

I bought a Seagate or whatever and it works flawless.

You should just go away, that will be the best gift you can give...

Just kidding, We will miss ya, Jason...well, maybe I won't miss your vomit in front of my tent; but I will certainly miss you popping by the house once a week!

Enjoy SoCal...and don't try to steal Cory from Demello...

how difficult is it to "backup" your games and play them off the hd?

or to use the mod in general?

Just got my stuff back from Andy. Everything works great. He got everything back to me exactly when he said he would, kept me up to date on what was going on, and even answered a bunch of questions I had.

And shipping was pretty friggin cheap. I've already recommended Andy to a couple of friends wanting to get their stuff done.

Thanks Andy!
